HaHa, about the lost-in-the-brush camo leverguns. OK, just to kick us off, here's a factory model. It's a Browning BLR in .450 Marlin, SS http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww25/Bill_Rights/BLR_in_450Marlin_SS_GunBroker_15475.jpg It was on Gun Broker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?It...

hand-cast lead BOOLITTS !?
What's the deal with bare lead bullets? I know they're traditional, and I know it's great to be self-sufficient if you're a reloader (but primers and brass are huge and HUGER issues, now-a-days, and who's gonna mix his/her own powder? Therefore, el flusho to self-sufficiency.) I was speaking with a ...

Don, I have great slings on other rifles and love 'em. I favor the sticky-grippy rubber shoulder pad on the Butler Creek "Comfort V-Grip Sling" http://www.butlercreek.com/products/comfort_v-grip.html . 'Bout the best you can get, unless you insist on using the sling for aiming support as s...

AJMD, Yes, the Rossi M92 in .454 Casull/.45LC was what I actually bought, but I got questioned as to why not buy an American-made Marlin. I like American-made and I like Marlin (though I don't own one), so I started this thread to sort out what I could'a bought in a Marlin or what I hope to buy in a...

Yipes! Heresy! Lever guns wearing camo?!?!?
C'mon, I know they must be out there, even if you had to paint them yourselves.
Time to come out of hiding (though, of course, hiding is what camo is for)
We promise we won't razz you! (and if you believe that )

Ysabel, Uhhuh, I got that people on this forum don't like the lawyer-special safety both because it often gets bumped to the"safe" position unknowingly and because it wasn't on the older 1892s. But sooner or later, maybe already, the Rossi (copy that it is) will become its own "legend...

Re: Marlin big bores: Can I get a longer magazine tube?
Mich, Yeh, those 1895SBL and 1895GBLs guide guns have shorter barrels (18.5") and so even though the mag goes to the end of the barrel, it only hold 6 rounds, but that is much better! I also want to get to a modern big bore round like the .450 Marlin, when I go there, versus .45-70 Gov't.... AJ...

Re: Will a snow bank stop a bullet?
AJ, Thanks. So it is not a matter of the burning propellant melting the back of the bullet, but the hot jets of gases, escaping to air at the base of the bullet when it exits the muzzle, act kinda like a cutting torch on the edges of the base of the bullet. OK, got it. In your example with the towel...

Before someone corrects me for advocating drifting out your rear sight with a punch (which will work and not do too much damage, with a soft brass punch), you can use (and should, if you can find/afford it) a hand press, essentially like a wheel puller, that grips behind the barrel and pushes the si...
