SEARS headstamp?????????

Hi All

Was going through some of my 30-30 brass today and I found some that the headstamp said SEARS on the top and 30-30 WIN on the bottom.

I never heard of Sears making ammo

Can someone give me a history lesson please?

Re: Check Your Remington 30-30 Ammo

This reminds me of something I told a friend of mine

Told him to take the factory ammo he used for defense and to crimp it in his reloading setup

Guess that goes for hunting ammo as well.

How hard is it to drill and tap a hole for a tang sight.

Hi All

I am pretty handy and I do know how to run a drill and tap

I have a drill press, a machinists vise, transfer punches and other tools.

My question is what can I do to guarantee the hole I drill will be perpendicular?

Tricks? tips?

Thanks

Pretty sure it was a Uberti 1873 or 76 in 45 caliber

Has a fore end and loading gate so it isnt a Henry

Bore looked to be 45 caliber

Almost scared to say it but after watching this episode I put a Marbles tang sight on my 1895 in 45-70

I reload mostly to save money. But also so I will have ammo if something bad happens in this world.

I too bought a lot of supplies when a certain person attained a certain position in this country.

Never went without.

Brownells quick take down screw review

Hi All Bought a couple of these for my 336s http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=27019/Product/MARLIN_LEVER_ACTION_QUICK_TAKEDOWN_SCREW If you buy them expect them to be slightly oversized. The two I bought, one I had to take to the belt sander a smidge and both the threads had to be worked a while. A...

Thoughts on lever as bad times rifle?????????

Hi Folks I hang on some forums that do the survival thing. Most of the time the talk for a bad times rifle goes the way of the AR-15 or AK-47. I have had both and lately I have been looking at levers for this role. Now please understand. I have a very different view from most of what I would do in a...

Re: OK, Show us pics of your camo leverguns!

I was gonna, but after I sanded the 70's-era Marlin 'varnish' off the old wood and saw how nice it was, I just oil-finished it. Maybe next time, or if RamLine or somebody affordable comes out with a camo synthetic stock for the 1894. This is as close as I got... http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...

Mind if I step down off my horse for a while?

Hi All

Is it all right if I step down a while? Your fire looks warm and the coffee smells great.

I go by the handle of Kid Couteau. I hail from Northern Maine about 12 miles from Canada.

I am a teacher by trade and a leatherworker and knife maker by hobby. Also a big gun enthusiast.
