Re: looking for .357 Deer loads for Rossi 92 with Short bbl
I've had great luck (dropped where they stood) on Texas whitetails with Winchester's 180-grain Partition Gold out of handguns and wouldn't hesitate to try it out of carbine. I've recovered one bullet (under the hide on the off-side), and it exhibited textbook expansion.

GParted is a free download and is simple to use (not near as scary as the description sounds). Just make sure you are working on the correct HD (the WD). It is a live CD (you download and burn the iso, and then boot from the CD). GParted is one of those indispensable tools. http://download.cnet.com/...

You've probably seen this but others maybe not, and it tends to support some of your posted observation.

Re: OT - Cell phone experts? Help needed...
FWIW, we're Tracfone users and my son jumped in the pool earlier this summer with his phone (old Nokia 1100) in his pocket. I pull the battery and SIM card out and let them try a couple of days. When I put them back together it all worked fine. If that does not work out for you, I have very good rec...

Re: Marlin Confusion and Price Check
Thanks. That was just about what I had decided (336 with a 36A-DL barrel) with an after-market tang sight (Lyman). I'd like to have it because I like the configuration (long barrel, short magazine and tang sight), but I think they have it way overpriced (and they think they have a real collector's i...

Marlin Confusion and Price Check
One of local pawn shops has Marlin (.30-30) that has me confused. It is a 24" rifle. The barrel is marked 36A-DL. Where it gets confusing is the stock is plain (no checkering), and it has a round bolt (like the 336). It also has what the dealer says is a factory tang sight. Any opinions on what...
