I am looking forward to the reports of those who try the turpentine here. My 94ae in 44 magnum seems to have leaded up pretty bad. :( I used turpentine tonight to clean my Super Blackhawk. It worked okay I suppose, but no better than Ballistol. It's still the Chore Boy wrapped around the brass brus...

Don't give up on the progressive lenses too soon. I've had mine for about a year. It took maybe a month for me to adjust fully to them. And the fit of the frame on the face does matter a lot!

Thanks!! I will get some in the next few days. I really like the smell too. Just like fresh cut cedar fills the shop with an odor that is fresh and clean. I used to take an old broken cedar arrow shaft and snap it in two just to get that smell. Almost as good as smelling a fresh fired shotgun shell...

My Marlin 1894C made in 1980 is great fun to shoot, and I think it should be more than adequate for deer at the ranges we shoot them here in south Mississippi. While I've killed several deer with my 1894ss .44 magnum, I've yet to shoot one with my .357. That may need to change. It has a Skinner peep...

My Ithaca Model 37 12 ga. was bought new in 1968. It works as well now as it did then, and, yes, if you hold down the trigger it will shoot as fast as you can pump the action!

Retired about six months ago. My retirement pay is actually more than my pay when I worked. It's a long story, but it was costing me money to work. That's not why I retired, though. If it had been, I would have retired a couple of years ago.

Anybody who says they haven't lost a deer is either untruthful or just hasn't hunted long enough. In this case it seems likely that the animal was not seriously hurt. Good for you for giving your best effort to find it. Remember that nothing in nature is wasted.

There are no wolves here, and the very few bears so far have caused no one any trouble. There are lots of coyotes and bobcats but, so far, they haven't attacked anybody. No. My first gun was a J. C. Higgins (Sears) bolt action 16 ga. repeater given to me for Christmas when I was maybe 11 years old. My younger brother got mud in the barrel and blew it up. You can certainly get 32 S&W ammunition with smokeless powder, if your revolver is made for it. I have a nickle plated H&R 32 S&W revolver. It also shoots 32 S&W longs. At present I have ammunition from three companies: Magtech, Remington, and Kinematics Research.

because lead bullets are 10 cents each and jacketed bullets are 30 cents each. If you go too fast with the lead you'll get leading, as you know. So, plinking load and 10 cent bullets. I bought 500 158 grain cast bullets for five cents each recently! They are round nose bullets. Should be great in m...

I've tried several. Right now a Weaver 1-3X20 sits on my 336 30-30. It may end up on one of my 1894's, but one of the '94's at least will keep a Skinner peep on it. I like the Weaver. Yes, it's made in Asia, but the country is Japan. They make some of the finest optics in the world there.

Remington 100 grain Core Lokts have always worked well in my Remington 742 and Ruger M77. They are 6 m m caliber, but the bullets are the same. This year, though, I'm hunting mostly with one of my three Marlin lever actions.
