Re: MOVIES - Act Of Valor
I saw it on Saturday and it was very good, even my wife liked it. I hate to disagree with MrMurphy, but everything I read on the making of the movie and all the write ups on the trailers. Except for the scenes where someone is killed, everything else was live fire, as alot of the fight scenes were Se...

Re: Marlin 1893 - A couple of Generalized Questions
I have a 1893 made in the early 20's and it has been shot using both 150 & 170's with no problems. It has dropped about 50 deer since it's been made both by my dad and I. One was dropped at about 350 yds by my dad(it was measured by a couple of non-believers, who said it couldn't kill at that ra...

Re: 243 Winchester for deer ?
I,ve used the .243, deerhunting since 1976 and have never lost a deer or had to use more than 1 shot. I reload and use the hornady 100 gr spire point. The only time I had to use more than 1 shot, was hunting antelope in Wyoming in 1983. The fault wasn't the .243, it was me not doing my job. If I do ...

Re: What's it worth to YOU?
I don't post very often, but I read almost everyday. Like I told Steve from Steves Gunz when I ordered his DVD & Parts for my 92, I have learned alot by being quiet and listening to what others have to say. I feel Hobie & AmbraCol do a great job and care about the site and people who come to ...

Re: Birthdate question on my Marlin '93, Now with Pics!
I agree with Wind and Bigbore45colt. I have a Marlin 93 that was my father's and after posting it a couple of years ago. Marlinman93 narrowed the date down to 1923-1925 the years following the fire at Marlin, which destroyed the records for those years.
