Re: OT - S&W 46 is home
Good choice ! FWIW, the S&W M-46 was the econo version of the famed Model 41, and suited for any ammo an owner cares to put through it. It looks like someone installed a set of checkered Model 41 grips on that one, S&W or aftermarket (Sile, etc), since the issue grips were uncheckered - at ...

Re: OT: German Shephard
Besides temperment, another thing to consider is that they shed a lot. It's known as "blowing thier coat" We had a White German Shepard, he was a great dog, lived to twelve I think. He shed so much you would have to vacuum three times a day and you still wouldn't get up all the fur. There ...

Re: OT Remington 799 Mini Mauser
I recall CDNN had some at what I thought was a very good price ($250 IIRC) and if you bought 3 or more they would drop the price down to $200 each. But that was several months ago and I may not be recalling the prices exactly right. I tried to talk my nephews into buying rifles with me but we could...

Re: OT Remington 799 Mini Mauser
I've got one in .22 Hornet, my bud has one in 7.62x39. The comment about the bolt being too small mirrors my opinion. The trigger is easily adjustable. The bedding consisted of a chamber pad only, causes the receiver to torque badly when tightening the action down....it's got to be re-bedded. Bob's...

Re: OT Remington 799 Mini Mauser
Being a Mauser fan, I've had some interest in these little guys for a while. Knowing they are not real Remingtons, but an import with Remington's name on them had me a little leery of jumping right in to one. A fellow was shooting one in 223 at the range the other day and was punching some pretty r...

Bolt Action Scope Question
Picked up a new ( to me ) Remngton 799 in .223. It's a nice light rifle and I'd like to keep it that way. It'll be used for plinking, targets and the occasional varmint. I'm kind of partial to Leupolds but open to anything. Was thinking about that Leupold Rifleman 2-7 33. Would really rather have a ...

About 20 here in southeast Michigan, a couple inches of snow on grassy areas. It's been a funny Winter so far, hardly any snow, maybe 6 or 8 inches total , not real cold either. Supposed to get a few inches tomorrow afternoon.

Re: OT: Dangers of Swine-Flu Vaccines
Generally I get the flu shot, last year I saw my M.D in Oct. He mentioned they had the vaccine in and did I want the shot. I said no, I thought I would wait a month or so then get it. 3rd week in Oct, I came down with the flu. Earliest they had seen, I ended up with one of the first documentated cas...

Value question for the experts
I came across a 1942 Model 94 in .32 Winchester. It's about a 60 to 70 % gun. No cracks or big dings on stock or forend, no overwhelming scratches on receiver or barrel. Bore is mint and shiny like a new penny. Screws don't look like they have been turned. Owner will not take less then 600.00 for th...

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Alpen, I have a full size pair, they're terrific. Almost unbelievable quality for the price. ( around 100.0)
