I just am tickled to death with the Pedersoli Sharps SRC, took it prairie dog huntin'. Re: Making a LA forearm from scratch
The best way I have found is like we drilled lamps in the woodshop at Murry State in Tishomingo. We aquired a long enough drill bit then chucked it up in the wood lathe. This takes two people, we drilled a short starter hole then switched to the long bit. One person holds the neck or grip area while...

Jim I use a bearing press w/aluminum v blocks and a 15" open end adjustable wrench. Never had to put a 6' cheater pipe on like some of the Mausers need. Have also seen the old monkey wrench used, all I ever had to do was tap the wrench w/ a 2 pound hammer. hope this helps Abilene

I built one on a CZ-VZ 24 Mauser. Only complaint I have is the mag was to short for Honady A-max 140 grainers. every thing else fit. With 100 gr Noslers it makes a fine varmint rifle. They really don't give you much for the walnut trees. I have been talkin' to a logger about the trees on the place my wife has, they only offered us $1000 per semi load. JReed,
Seems like I remember seein' a forge simular( I still cain't spell)to yours that used a metal tube (sheetiron) to get a plastic hair drier far enough from the heat that it didn't melt. That would give ya 2 or 3 air speeds. May just have to assemble one for myself. Abilene

J Reed, I made most my of my gunsmithin' tools in a metals class in college. Motorcycle springs or coilover shock springs make really good chisels and scrapers. If that is the case it will be a simple to remove about a quarter of an inch from the top arch. Then heat and bend them straight and TIG up the cut. All I have to do is build some aluminum sandwich plates to act as heat sinks and I'm in business.
