Re: Loading for a 357 magnum Rossi

FWIW; I don't have different quality loads for any of my guns. I do the best I can with each load no matter if it's intended purpose is "plinking", hunting, target, or defense. I use the same "strategy" for my .38 Special as I do for my 30-06; find the best load with the compone...

Re: Loading for a 357 magnum Rossi

1. for rarely-used, but utterly-depended-on 'Home Defense' loads, which don't have to shoot long range to a precise aiming-point, I'd stick with whatever factory loads feed FLAWLESSLY and are reasonably designed for 2-legged predators (with potentially thick clothing, and keeping in mind a miss cou...

Loading for a 357 magnum Rossi

Load development. Do you typically spend effort working up a liar like one would for a bigger center fire rifle like a 308? Or do you mainly look for a load that works smoothly and safely? I'm not likely to shoot anything much beyond 100 yards. Reloading would be for fun and a vanishingly small chan...

Re: I know why the post office is broke

I had one that came from the east coast out here to within 20 miles. Then back to the east coast. Then back out here. I no longer wonder why they're going down...

Re: New guy question about scope mounting

@North Country Gal: Yeah, definitely thinking red dot type scope. Especially with looking at the pistol caliber, it'd be a shorter range rig. I'll have to look into Ultradots, too. @mod71alaska: I live in Renton, WA. Just outside Seattle. Posting pics of what...? @Griff: Oh, I don't have to get over...

New guy question about scope mounting

First post here. :) Up to this point, most of my shooting has been with bolt action varmint/benchrest type rifles. Something has gotten me interested in leverguns. I am contemplating finding something in 357. Has the advantage of sharing 38 specials with the revolver in the safe. But, and here is wh...
