Has anyone cut down a lever 45-70 to 16”?

Wear one everyday at work. Never had a problem in close to 20 years. I believe mine is a crkt or something like that. Mine is a "get the f-ck off of me" knife.

Just bought a used Trapper 30-30. It does not have a front sight. I need to know what size to buy for a factor replacement. And what sight to buy if I want to replace with a fiber optic.

Had my first bout with gout about 3 years ago. First the left big toe, then the right big toe (2 weeks apart). Not fun. Then I had a kidney stone about a year ago. Will take gout all day in every joint before I would wish a stone on anyone.
