now,, don't get me wrong i kinda like firearms. I think everyone should own and use and carry as many as they would like / can afford. I'd keep the hole about six inches in diameter - big enough to see through a scope or whatever. Remember your 'peripheral' vision is reduced, so a dog or kid running into the danger zone would not be as visible as without the 'muffler'. the "in" end is @ 16" , the "out" @ 9...
