Re: Anyone here run a thickness planer?
I have the Grizzly 12 1/2” . Picked it up when on sale for around $225 . It works quite well. I have planed a lot of Walnut and Maple with it. I run a scrap piece of wood along side the good piece to avoid snipe. No problem.

Re: Red Dots on Handguns
I have red dots on several handguns and scopes on a couple. The red dots are better than a scope for me" I have a Ruger 6” GP100 .357 mag. That shoots like a rifle. I also liked it with irons so I just had to buy another one so I had a choice.

I would suspect a bad scope , Mount or bases. Also bedding issues can give the same results. I had a Rem. 700 .243 that shot that way until I bedded it and floated the barrel. It then became a tack driver.

I have the Thumblers B also. Using SS pins,Dawn dish soap and Lemmie Shine the brass comes out prettier than new. I deprive and resize before the polish and dry in the oven or in the sun on a summer day. It’s a pleasure to reload ammo that’s better than factory.

Swaging removes the crimp without removing any brass and gives a uniform primer fit. The Dillon Swage is excellent but costs three times as much as the RCBS Swag set and needs to be mounted permanently to the work bench. You decide if speed is worth the additional cost. There is a good video on YouT...

Your expander/flairing die is not opening the case mouth enough. You did not say what brand die you are using but different sized expander plugs are normally available from the makers as a replacement part. Measure yours and measure your bullets. I use expander plugs about .003” smaller than the bul...

Most accurate is my Remington 40X .22 that competed in the Olympic Games back in the 60’s . Long story, but after I sold the Redfield Olympic sights that were on it ,I made money on the purchase as I paid $70.00 for the rifle when I bought it. Great idea ! Maybe . . . maybe not. More like good marketing. I just weighed my 180grn 40s&w handloads that they list for $9.99/lb. 2lbs equals only 53 rds so essentially, you're paying $18.87 for 50rds or 37.7¢ per rd. Not a deal by any means when bulk 40s&w ammo routinely goes for about ½...

What Six said +1 . Mine shoots into about 1 1/2” at 50 yd with 250 gr. cast bullet loads. That is more than adaquite for deer hunting in my area. Jacketed bullets will all cut a tight little group at 50 yd. that’s about my limit these days with iron sights.

Just looking to see what is available as far as parts go. I’d kinda like a rifle in about 20” barrel with a scope.
Building an AR15 seems simpler about choices of parts. It’s just going to be a range toy. I don’t hunt any more.
