I have an Uberti 1858 SS new Army with a conversion cylinder. It is one of the most accurate six shooters I have ever fired.
Cowboy loads all are accurate in it.

Re: Just for fun lets kick around this question ..... What was the best 22 rifle you have ever owned and why?

Most accurate is my Remington 40X .22 that competed in the Olympic Games back in the 60’s . Long story, but after I sold the Redfield Olympic sights that were on it ,I made money on the purchase as I paid $70.00 for the rifle when I bought it. Most fun pinker is my custom Ruger 10-22 with Fajen stoc...

Re: Selling ammo buy the pound

Great idea ! Maybe . . . maybe not. More like good marketing. I just weighed my 180grn 40s&w handloads that they list for $9.99/lb. 2lbs equals only 53 rds so essentially, you're paying $18.87 for 50rds or 37.7¢ per rd. Not a deal by any means when bulk 40s&w ammo routinely goes for about ½ that pr...

What Six said +1 . Mine shoots into about 1 1/2” at 50 yd with 250 gr. cast bullet loads. That is more than adaquite for deer hunting in my area. Jacketed bullets will all cut a tight little group at 50 yd. that’s about my limit these days with iron sights.

The 30-30 works ok on the little ones like this, but I would use at least a Model 71 on the big ones. Probably an '86 in .45-70 would be better.
A .45-70 would ruin all the meat .

Re: Question for the AR guys here.

Just looking to see what is available as far as parts go. I’d kinda like a rifle in about 20” barrel with a scope.
Building an AR15 seems simpler about choices of parts. It’s just going to be a range toy. I don’t hunt any more.

Thanks ,
The guy in the YouTube video having the 12” barrel with an adjustable butt stock. How can that be legal as in
Short barreled rifle ?
What if one made a longer flash suppressor to bring the barrel to say 16 1/4” and welded it to the barrel ?
Would he then be legal ?

I bought a Aero M5 .308 stripped lower for a project gun. I have built a couple AR15’s , simple. Can a mid or rifle length barrel be used on a lower with a carbine buffer/recoil spring...
