Just a private pilot here. Not alot of hours. Saw the news about the crash and the video. Wife was wondering if they ran out of fuel. Told her, not likely, probably pilot error, and that I thought he might have been going too slow. She said the news reported the pilot had 10K hours, told her, didn't...

I kind of figure that a HD weapon, you don't need buckshot as I suspect the trauma from just a regular duck/pheasant load would work just fine at HD ranges of probably 25' or less
Thanks for the work and info. I am sure that the buckshot would do the job very well!

I have a 44sp NF I picked up, about 3 years ago. Cyl. mouths are .432" IIRC. Luckily, my lyman 429421 mould casts @.433", so it worked out well. Big difference in accuracy, when I actually measured the cyl throats after shooting some .430" boolits thru the gun. Went to .433 and groups...

Glad I went and stuck it on my Chistmas list, if it is released by then.

I have had a RWS 52 .22 side lever rifle for 20years and not a bit of trouble. It is kind of loud, but it does put the smackdown on things. 25yd bunny shots would be easy. With the heavy pellets , it probably hits about between a 22 short and 22 cb cap. If one dared to come around, a crow @25-40yds ...

Could be that with the primers with that load, your velocities are less and your bullet is unstable at that velocity. I have a 38-55, wasn't that bad as yours, that the holes were oblong, but as I went up in charge, the bullets straightened out and it shoots very well now. Twist wasn't fast enough f...

I wouldn't shoot the rounds with just the card wad, personally. I have loaded with a card wad above the powder, but then, I use corn meal grits as a filler the rest of the way, so when the bullet is seated, it just compresses the grits.
