As much as I would love to say the 30-30 wcf I will have to go with the 44 mag with a heavy lead bullet.

I have hunted with a 30-30 wcf all life and see no need to go to a bigger gun. Here in Ga. everybody has a bolt action 300 mag seems like. Or you buy a 30-30 wcf for your kid to start hunting with before you buy them a 300 mag. Now I am not downing bolt actions or 300 mags. They are not for me.
