Wow. Found this thread while looking for .25-35 Tomcat data. I apologize for not responding sooner. Life got in the way -- you know, divorces, moves, surgery, getting old. I just measured the water capacity of a once-fired/fireformed WW .25-35 case and it was 45 grains on the nose, if anyone cares....

That stuff on the outside came from the inside, cast is porous enough that oils and lard seep out and are charred on the outside. My sister has cast cookware that has been in our family since early 1800’s and came to the Indian territory on the trail of tears with our g,g,g,g grand parents.

Reading from the link you provided it looks like you can use either with a preference on the WSM because of head size.

No pictures but I’ve seen 15 or so bald eagles and more hawks than I care to count, on my way from NE Montana to Oklahoma to shoot some pigs and get a deer or two

If you should want a buckle made you could have a silver smith do a sand cast or lost wax cast for it. I did an internet search and there are several places that can do this.

I've owned and shot several bolt guns. Wore out the barrel on a sporterized springfield, re-barreled it to 25-06 and wore that out on prairie dogs. Had to re-zero every weather change. Got a 99 in 250/3000 and shot it many years. Never had to change zero unless I changed the load. BLRs never change...

Sixgun’s (bubba)idea is ok, but I would use a feeler gauge and just cut the needed size. Then when and if it gets moisture on it you can take it apart, clean and oil. When you go back together it should be in the same place.
