It is indeed made by Armscor and yes they are good pistols. The Cimarron version has the 1911 (not the 1911A1) frame as well as the smooth flat MSH like the original 1911.

I have a .356 just like that one...same sight and all. My son killed his first hog with it several years ago. It was a russian bore on a hunt that was his HS graduation gift. To say it worked well would be an understatement.

Re: Longmire series and a lever action rifle question.
The rifle is a Winchester Model 94. No idea the caliber but the smart money would be on a 30-30.
Yeah I saw that hammer down on the 1911 too, but still I like the show. The books are better.

Tempest in a teapot. This was started by two very liberal representatives in a part of St. Louis County that tends to be purple. They are pandering to their base and trying to take advantage of the national news. They know this won't go anywhere because of the Republican super majority. In fact, th...

Re: A good Load for my 1897 Colt 73
Colt did not guarantee the SAA for smokeless powder until 1900. The serial numbers in 1900 started with 192,000. The actual steel was improved and changed before that time, but again Colt did not guarantee them until after serial number 192,000. The steel changed sometime in 1896 I "think"...

Re: "RANGE REPORT ADDED" 2400 load data, for 38-40 rifle hel
Funny isn't it? Ask if you could use a 10mm handgun with a 180 gr. bullet traveling 1300 fps on deer and no one would tell you no. I have read where this load is gaining popularity as BEAR protection. Use the same bullet and velocity from a Winchester 1873 38 w.c.f. and there is NO WAY you would eve...

Re: 2400 load data, for 38-40 rifle help
Depends a lot on what gun you are loading for. That load is safe in my 92's but don't use it in my 73's or my Colt SAA. Search for "Pet Loads from Ken Waters". I have it printed out here somewhere but it had some good rifle loads for the 38 w.c.f.

Got one on the way from CDNN, a 45-60 :D I think you will be happy with that one! I have a "Chap" and an original, both in 45-60. The are MUCH easier to get components and to load for. They did normally use a 300 grain bullet, but in my Chap I used a 410gr bullet and 50gr. of black to tak...

I depends on how hard those bullets are. Usually a softer alloy, say 20-1 is needed to shoot black powder accurately. Also for mine a thin card wad between the bullet and powder has helped accuracy.

Kimber...an older "Classic Custom". Nothing done to it except remove the full length guide rod and use nothing but Wilson mags. Gun has never malfunctioned and will feed empty brass, both hand cycled and fired. (I can put an empty in the middle of the mag and it feeds...honest) Also the mo...

Glad I am not the only one that thought this was a "weird" article that was lacking a lot.
I bought the magazine for that article in particular as it is unusual to find anything on the .356.

I agree with Hobie. I had a similar issue with a '76 Winchester that had been shortened. Here is how I found the problem. I removed the spring and put the follower back in. It should fall with gravity from one end to the other by tipping the gun. I could tell it did not. I eased a cleaning rod into ...

I have shot a LOT of 38 wcf's and several 44's. IMHO it seems that the 38's have an edge in the accuracy department. Just been my experience..others may be different.
Bullet selection is not great, but 180 grain lead has always worked fine for me.

I also have and enjoy a '94 in 356, a Browning 45-70 carbine, and of course 30-30's.
I have been thinking about a .357 lever gun, but could not decide why. Now I guess I have been "pushed".

First SA purchased in '81 when I was on college...a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag. Traded it for a Colt 45 Gov't Model that is also long gone now. That SBH is the gun that started me re-loading. First lever gun was a Marlin 1894 44 Mag that I purchased in '82 when I found a real job after college. So...

The simplest answer, assuming we are talking blued steel guns, is the Super has a steel grip frame in a larger "Dragoon" shape and the Blackhawk is smaller and is aluminum. The Super has an un-fluted cylinder and and Blackhawk is fluted. The Supers are 44's and yours is a 45  There ar...

I also read that he likes to get unusual guns for movies, then keep them
That "musket" 1876 is actually a carbine. The carbine 1876's had full length stocks.
That plain old 1886 in Monte Walsh was a 50-110 express.
I too wish he made more movies.
