It's one of those 1940s guns they don't have the specific year info on. It's a 30-30 (I guess you could tell by the rounds next to it) and it sure is fun to shoot! It was my Dad's.

Cast&Blast, I like the 94, and I like the horse blankets too. If they get too much in the way you could ship 'em my way. I don't have any to take pics of my lever guns on. Joe Joe, I could probably send you three different colors and she'd never notice! But, just to be safe, maybe you should ju...

Picture of my 94

I was in my basement moving around a bunch of Indian horse blankets that my wife bought seemingly for the purpose of being in the way for six months. And I thought one of them would make a nice backdrop for a western style gun! I knew those blankets would eventually serve a purpose! http://i86.photo...

Man, what is it about those saddle rings? Such a small feature but so appealing. Great slideshow, thanks.

NRA Museum: treasure trove of leverguns

Anyone been to the NRA Museum in Fairfax, VA? I was going to go back today but ran out of time. I work very near there (and use their range regularly, it's an awesome range). Anyway, if you're ever in the area, the museum is truly wonderful. Very thoughtfully presented displays, easily navigable wit...

Re: Department of Homeland Security visited my blog today..

Yep the DHS visited my blog today for about 7½ minutes. You reckon the title did it? They came direct from a search for " shooting with hobie "...  That's interesting! I have a fly fishing blog. And whenever I publish a post about an Orvis product, within 12 hours I get a hi...

I guess I just was concerned because it was a new gun and I wanted to do things by the book. But I was unfamiliar with stinger ammo and wasn't sure what about it was different.

But I'll give it a try. If it works, I won't need to buy ammo (for that gun anyway) for a long, long time!!

Thanks.

So if it shoots and cycles, there's no way I'm hurting the gun by using it, right?

Stinger rounds in Marlin 39A?

I have a new Marlin 39A .22 levergun. A friend of mine, on hearing this, gave me a big ol' freezer bag full of .22 Stinger ammo.

Any reason I can not or should not use it in my Marlin?

Thank you.

Wow, I guess those geese I shot with my 20 Ga. Model 12 were just faking! My 97 riot gun is the one I grab for things that go bump in the night but I'll let that one go long before the Model 12. My Dad gave it to me whenI was 13 and I've killed a heck of a lot of game with it, large and small, and ...

Thanks again. Speaking of quality, when I was looking for a scope for my 39A, well I knew it could be a pretty accurate gun and that my eyes wouldn't make it very fun to shoot past 20 yards or so. But man, when you hold a cheap scope up your eye and then a nice one, the quality just jumps out, doesn...

New here, but love leverguns. (pics)

Hi. A friend from another forum invited me here and I'm glad to find a place so rich in resources and enthusiasts. I have three leverguns. This first one is the only gun I have that belonged to my Dad, a wartime era 30-30 Winchester 94. This thing is really fun to shoot. My eyes are getting old on m...

How about Arnold's lever shotgun in Terminator 2: Judgement Day?

I love how he works the lever one handed while riding the motorcycle, spinning it around.
