Kirk,
Put me down for 2 copies of your calendar. I like the idea of a brief history insert about the guns in the photos.

I have a Uberti 1873 rifle in 38-40 and it is very accurate. I would like to get one in .22LR some day. Nice find!

Re: Lee Shaver cant get in touch with him??
I spoke to Lee Shaver's helper about 3 weeks ago. They are very busy right now and they are being selective on their email responses. Keep trying, you should get Ron or Lee later in the day if you call.

Re: Range report: Winchester 30-30 with photos
Hi Kirk, A great range report as usual. I tried using moly coated lead bullets in my 1894 32-40 rifle circa 1903. It was by far the worst shooting group that I ever had in any of my rifles at 50 yards. I have had shotguns pattern better! What I found was a large amount of moly fouling in the...

OT Winchester 52D question
I need to know what height scope blocks go on a Winchester model 52D with the standard barrel. I know the front block should be higher than the back block for Lyman/Unertl target scopes, but how much?

There are 2 locking lugs on the model 43 Winchester. The bolt handle is one and there is a small lug oposite the bolt handle, with a machined cut in the receiver for it. The problem is that the far lug should have been larger and since it locked up from the rear a stout load in 22 Hornet or 218 Bee w...

The Winchester model 43 was manufactured in 4 calibers. .22 Hornet,.218 Bee. 25-20WCF,32-20WCF. I have all 4 calibers. The action will develop head space on hot loads in .22 Hornet and 218 Bee. If you load down near the starting loads you should have no problems. Every now and then a barrel will sho...

On the 1890 Winchesters, bore condition is important. On a lot of the 1890's the bore will be pitted. The use of black powder and mercuric priming compond plus lax cleaning ruined many early .22's.Condition is also a factor in price. Most 1890 receivers will show varied amounts of blueing flaking. This ...

It sounds like the new Marlin 410 lever shotguns. I have an original 1929-32 Marlin 410. It is based on their 1893 rifle action,I believe. In two Marlin books that I have, one states that around 2,500 were made and the other book says around 5,500 were made. Although there have been reported serial n...

Some people may have problems with this sight, but for me it tightened the groups up by a no...
