Absolutely beautiful pictures and beautiful rifle. well described work by Turnbull, also. I'm a little old-fashioned. I have a savage 99 takedown from 1917. 250-3000 cal. I've never had any problem with weakness with the takedown system. Apparently, they did it right back then.

I'd shoot it first. might be the best shooter you ever saw. If not call the factory, they might just want you to send the barrel for inspection or replacement. no need for FFL.

Seniorlevergunner got it right when he said it had to be capable of FULL auto fire. You guys need to get your definitions right.
