Re: Alliant ceases production of powders
The Alliant statement seems like a bit of a blanket statement to make for a company that doesn't make all of it's own powders. Does this mean that Bofors is having trouble getting raw materials and that's affecting part of the Reloder line? What about powders made here or in Canada? Are we still imp...

Re: In the Absence of Alliant Powders
Alliant sells some pretty useful powders but they've been really unreliable in the supply chain for several years now. I found some Bullseye and Unique last weekend at a store for $35/lb so I bought enough to last me for quite a while. I wonder if the lack of powder availability will result in a glu...

Re: 45-90 Loads for 1886
If you are wanting to push ballistics I would steer you towards to a 350gr Hornday FN. The 350 gr Speer was designed for the 458WM and is a tough pill but the nose length is a little long for the 45/90 unless to can source a Lee FCD to crimp it in position where it still functions in the action. I ...

Re: 45-90 Loads for 1886
Do you have any good 450 loads with IMR 3031 and 300 or 400 grain bullets? I don't load the 300 grain. And the 400 grain I do load isn't going to be comparable since it has that copper partition in the middle and thus is longer than a normal cup and core bullet. That changes the volume and pressure...

I've got them in SP and LP but haven't used any yet. Nice to see a new US maker in the game. You can get their SP, LP, and LR online from Republic Ammunition ... even in quantities of 100 or 500, plus the usual 1K, 2K, 5K.

Re: 45-90 Loads for 1886
I think there are a couple of people here shooting the 45-90. I shoot the 450 Alaskan, which has a nearly identical case capacity. You can shoot IMR 4350 in it, but it will be inefficient and won't produce top velocities. You might get the 300 grain Hornady #4500 to 2100fps but not much farther with...

Here's a die plate I printed for my RCBS Ammomaster Auto. It prints the threads in the die holes ... though I typically have to chase them with a tap to clean them up. This was done on a Bambu Labs printer.

. It makes me wonder if you could use a 3D printer to build a paraffin or similar material 'form' so that you can make an investment casting using metal as a second step. Yes, it's called lost PLA casting. A material called PolyCast is specifically formulated for the job and burns out cleanly. Much...

A lot of show ... 6am, no knock warrant. There was no reason to go at this guy like that other than to send a message.

I've been holding off on the Garmin. Though the LabRadar was first, it has some issues with shot sensitivity and the battery that are hard for me to overcome.
