oh... make sure that the bed is ABSOLUTLY level in both axis too.... we used to shim them up with brass shim stock and even grout under the bigger machines we had at the power house. Any twist in the ways will make errors in your work. that hollow center may be for wood... cant tell by the picture....

The old man seen an ad for public auctions last week and found some stuff coming up in the closest city from me. Mostly junk from the school but there was one item that looked interesting; a Rockwell metal lathe. It was going too cheap for his liking so he bid on it and ended up getting it for $400....

Love the collection. Here in NM, they have made it illegal to hunt for arrowheads but before that, my dad was always looking for them and never found one. He went out with a friend one time who also hunted arrowheads and the friend found one right at my dad's feet.

Love them. I traded a fellow a lawn tractor for one a few years ago in about the same condition. Mine don't have the interesting muzzle as yours though. It does have the letter code on the barrel which is supposed to be June of 1923. On mine, its right next to the barrel index mark on the left side....

You might try a fuel bowl gasket on the bottom then put your hopper on against it. The thing is, you might have to go to several part stores to find one that is willing to work with you before saying, "We don't have those."

Rusty, my dad's CCH did the same thing with shooting to low. If I might suggest the same remedy we used, he replaced the front sight first. The front sight on his was very tall. I forgot the particulars but I believe it was over .5" and he replaced it with one that was .3" and that helped....
