oh... make sure that the bed is ABSOLUTLY level in both axis too.... we used to shim them up with brass shim stock and even grout under the bigger machines we had at the power house. Any twist in the ways will make errors in your work. that hollow center may be for wood... cant tell by the picture....

Rusty, my dad's CCH did the same thing with shooting to low. If I might suggest the same remedy we used, he replaced the front sight first. The front sight on his was very tall. I forgot the particulars but I believe it was over .5" and he replaced it with one that was .3" and that helped....
