Re: 1886 45-70

I have one of the Henry ALL WEATHER, 18.5 INCH BARREL WITH THE LOADING GATE , AND IT LOOKS RATHER LIKE A MARLIN. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT IT ALSO LOADS AND UNLOADS THRU THE MAG TUBE.
I put a skinner peep sight and it works wonderful, and looks awesome

1886 45-70

I am considering one of the new Chippwa Kodiak model of the 1886, the Uberti, the Cimerron, and Pedersoli. I do not care for the rebounding hammer of the Miroku built Winchesters. I am not saying they are not good guns , just have met some people that say they have misfires with that hammer, Do any ...

Re: Rossi 92

I have heard the exterior part of the magazine tube is screwed into the receiver, much like the Henry's are. For a heavy recoiling carbine that makes a lot of sense. I would like to see more of their carbines with that style of magazine tube. Makes unloading a cinch, and do not have to cycle the car...

I purchased a new Rossi 38/357 and got both a new front and rear sight from STEVE'S GUNZ and they both were Marbles sights made for the new Rossi's.
old sights drifted out to the right, and new sight went right in. Steves's says these sights are made for the Rossi

there is a company in Anchorage, Alaska called Wild West guns could probably do the work, but like Turnbull would probably be expensive. from what I understand they would work very well, but you might be recoil sensitive to the hotter loads. I figure if they would hold 357 mag, and others 44 mag, should handle the 45 colt loads equally well

I think one of the reasons lever guns have always had a strong appeal to me, is I shoot left handed.
