Have you chamfered the chamber mouth? My '73s or Henry won't feed a semi-wadcutter. I have to "jiggle" the rifle a little to bounce the cartridge around that sharp edge of the bullet.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 10:40 amShoots ok in the carbine

As a novelty, sure... but in an "end of civilization as we know it" thing, batteries degrade over time... If I can get mine to last five years they're exceptional. So in 5 years you have a two wheeled, unstable, poorly balanced cart. My horses were 6 & 3 when I acquired them, five year...

My completely "tongue-in-cheek" answer is that a "case full" would be too much powder. :) I've had folks tell me that having a card wad next to the base of the bullet can affect flight. I haven't had that experience with either the 45 Colt or 40-90SBN I've loaded in that fashion....

My first revolver as a deputy was a mdl 10. I then got the loan of a nickel mdl 19 and carried it for a number of years until the owner wanted it back... didn't need it until she got a new job and needed a .357 revolver. I replaced it with a new mdl 65 about 1986 and carried it with two departments....
