I went to a cowboy action match... but... forgot to check the number of rounds balls in the box... fell short! Stayed, spotted targets & recorded scores for the rest of the match. Getting a MDQ for failing to shoot 2 stages may seem a bit harsh... but not taking enough ammo to a gun fight is far...

I've taken several deer with 150 grain Federal HyShok in the .30-30. I've taken a couple with handloads. I used a Sierra 150 grain FN in front of 27 grains of RL 7 and Winchester primers. Makes 2290 out of my mdl 94 w/26" bbl.

IIRC, the last stage on our PPC qualification course was 12 rounds in 25 seconds. My last shot was simultaneous with the buzzer... they gave it to me. However, the only time I wore a SAA on duty, was when participating in a parade.
