Re: Cartridge Conversion Cylinders
I have messed with a Howell conversion cylinder for a Ruger Old Army a bit. It was fun and worked as advertised, but unsure how truly “useful” it is. While a sample size of only one, this one wasn’t finicky. The entire load/unload process probably took about as long using it as loading the original ...

Re: I've never eaten squirrel
In my teen years and into college we hunted and ate a lot of squirrels and rabbits. A friend’s dad would take us small game hunting every weekend. We’d often give some of our take to an old widow who lived nearby. She was German and would make squirrel sausage out of them. Now that I am retired I ho...

I’ve used it on all sorts of vermin such as squirrels, groundhogs, crows, etc. While I haven’t used it on one, I feel it would prove effective on coyote, within proper range of course With a 40 gr. Sweet looking truck and pretty cool it made the calendar!
I learned to drive a standard on my Dad's 1957 3/4 ton Stepside Chevy. 283 V-8 with "3 on the tree." We had it around as a spare vehicle for many years. It looked nowhere near as nice as yours but I sometimes miss that old truck.

I've always wanted an old flat fender Willys jeep. To have purchased one new in the box, so to speak, would be wild. In college I came close to buying a 1950 or 51 Willys pickup. I have an old FWB 124 in .177 that runs in the 830-850 fps range and kills squirrels and rabbits cleanly. It prefers JSB Exacts at 8.44 gr. In my humble experience, faster velocities gets you flatter trajectories but if the shot is well placed it really doesn't matter.

We keep my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun by the back door. In the winter we have squirrels that keep climbing onto our bird feeders. After they get shot in the butt a few times they tend to stay on the ground and off the feeders. Works well to keep them out of the garden in the summer too.

Handgun silhouette was the reason I bought a Super Blackhawk in the late 70s. My best friend bought a S&W 29 and we both competed back in the day. While never a serious threat to anyone, score wise, we had fun. Haven't heard of anyone shooting that in decades. Sad really.
