I`m no wood expert and have no idea what the wood can be used for, i`ll let it dry and see what it looks like. I sawed it into three by six by eight feet so it will take a while.

Yepper, took mine apart again and re-fit everything and when i was done there is only about two thousands difference between the front of the forearm and the end of the tube, close enough.
Took it out and shot it and put them both in the same hole, good enough.
Thanks Joe

Kinda on my own on this one  I`m embarrassed to say that most of the problem is my aging eyes, the mag tube was a issue but not the accuracy problem. Re: 1895 Forearm question.
OK, I had my facts twisted. Ooops. The 1895 is a 45-70 with a round barrel ... right? If so that barrel is fairly thin and to my way of thinking ( SWAGing it ) most any pressure could deflect it. The 1894 I mentioned has an octagon barrel so it's pretty darn stiff. Apples to oranges. OK I'll quit n...

I was watching your comments, but I had no idea of any suggestions to make. My one and only (at this time) Marlin 1894 didn't have any foibles that needed attention. Thing is after fixing the tube so it wasn`t pulling away from the barrel it didn`t shoot high again, ya would of thought it would of.
Do ya suppose that the forearm and tube once all tightened up keeps the barrel rigid so it can`t flex up. hmmmmm

1895 Forearm question.
On this new guide gun that has the long mag tube on it when i remove the screw that holds the tube cap on and the tube to the barrel the tube maves away from the barrel.
