Return Of The Savage 99
Several months ago I posted in this forum about the return of the Savage 99. I included a photo of a letter from the company president saying the 99 is on the drawing board. Now the bad news!! I inquired about it at the Savage booth at the NRA Convention this past weekend. I was told the 99 project ...

Re: Leverguns Forum Auction for Fund this Site
P.S. any problem shipp'n unloaded Magazines through the Postal service? Not a problem as far as the Post Office as long as they are shipped from and to a USA address and their are no local ordinances banning their use or possession in either the sender or recipient's address. I do suggest you stick...

Re: OT: Source for reduced .223 loads?
I did it years ago, can't recall the specific details other than using Unique powder and getting the data from a cast bullet manual with a bullet of similar weight. I shot them in a AR-15 and had to manually cycle the action. I do recall getting a quiet report and knocking over tin cans without chan...

Re: Good commercial deer load for Ruger Blackhawk in .41 Mag?
I have to be a John Kerry and flip-flop on this and agree with jengel. First time I have been aware that anybody made a 240 gr load for 41. I thought 210 was max. Shows you how long it has been since I shopped for factory ammo.

Re: Good commercial deer load for Ruger Blackhawk in .41 Mag?
I would avoid using hollow points in 41 mag as they may be a bit to explosive and might not penetrate to vitals. I like the PMC 210 soft nose, they are the most accurate 41 mag factory ammo I've shot but it has been at least 10 years since I shot any factory ammo through my 41 with the exception of ...

Re: ROSSI -357mag
My Rossi just doesn't like 357's of any kind. It digests all kinds of 38's like a hot knife through butter with the exception of flush seated, full wad cutters. It swallows round nose 357's with out much trouble but SWC's have to be coaxed in or loaded one at a time. At the loading bench I can seat ...

Suggestions needed, finding a legitimate appraiser.
Does anybody know how to get a legitimate itemized appraisal on a Winchester, Colt and S&W collection in the Phoenix Arizona metro area?? The appraisal and appraiser could possibly be challenged, he/she must have credentials and be willing to testify in court if the estate can not be settled and...

Allot of good suggestions. Now is the time to start writing Mr Coburn and let him know what you want before it goes into production. My guess is these will appear chambered in 243, 308 and the new short mags as they will sell quicker and easier than a nostalgic chambering. Simply put Mr Coburn is go...

Savage 99 to return !!!
I recently wrote Savage about the similarity between the new Marlin bolt action rifle looking like a copy of theirs. I suggested if Marlin is copying Savage's rifles they could level the field by bringing back the Model 99. From drawing board to dealer's shelf may be from a few to several years but ...
