Re: Another lever on the wall.....
I ran two of my loads thru it to see how it would shoot and where it might hit from a close 12 yds. The first was 405 gr. RNFP with 13 gr. Unique which was relatively easy shooting and hit upper left group. Next a hotter load same bullet with 40 gr. of IMR 3031. Now you could feel the mule kick but ...

Been a while but last time I returned a gun Ruger would email you a paid Return label for the shipper they use. Most time it is FedEx.

Re: Found a nice old 1892 in 44-40.......
Yes it had been cut from standard length to 21.5 at some point and from looking at wear on the barrel it was a long time ago. I like that shorter length and whomever did the job did a good job. On how it shoots...I did not have to adjust the sights at all.

Found a nice old 1892 in 44-40.......
Had been looking for a nice 1892 Winchester in 44-40 that I could afford and found one recently. Has wear but looks great and cycles and shoots very well with the right load. Only 44-40 ammo I could find was HSM Cowboy and it didn't shoot that well with what looked to be key holing. Slugged the barr...

Re: A little custom work on my Heritage Rough Rider.
It shoots much better with either CCI 22LR or Quiets as you can see from that card target. The $$ 22 Magnums were all over the place. At first I finished it without a front sight but later made one for it.

Re: A little custom work on my Heritage Rough Rider.
Very nice! :D I do not have a Heritage Rough Rider. The safety has always turned me off - like many traditionalists. That said, I understand they are good little guns, especially for the money. When they came out with the Barkeep last year that perked my interest. Now that it is available in a bird...

A little custom work on my Heritage Rough Rider.
Picked up the 22LR/22Mag Rough Rider some years ago and hadn't shot it much. When they released the short barrel Barkeep I decided to take off on that idea. So I shortened the barrel to 2 1/4 inch and made a custom front sight plus opened up the rear sight notch. Now without the case ejector I make ...

Re: My Holy Grail Smith
I have a few Smiths but this one I consider my "Holy Grail" Model 25-7 .45 Colt I found on Guns International last year. It shoots really well!

Re: Results of 44 Mag load tests with 1873 Carbine....
Ive never seen a 73 in 44 mag!! They are hard to find and from what I read Uberti stopped making them in 2020. Will be shooting low level .44 Mag rounds or .44-40 type loads in 44 Mag brass. I have a Henry 44 Mag carbine for the heavy stuff. Don't know how much this one has been shot over the years...

Results of 44 Mag load tests with 1873 Carbine....
Tested 5 mild 44 Mag loads for mostly plinking but still have the power of a 10mm. My Uberti/Winchester 1873 Carbine was test rifle and the bullets used were Xtreme 200 gr. plated, Missouri Bullets 200 gr. Cowboy and Matt's Bullets 245 gr. RNFP cast lead. Powders used were Alliant Unique and Red Dot...

Re: 1873 Rifle Idea
I'm shooting a .44 Magnum chambered 73 and I'm not worried about it. Now, what I would really like is an old style Henry or 66 rifle chambered in .480 Achilles I recently bought a used 1873 in 44 Mag and trying different loads in it that right now are in the .44-40 range. If you load your own what ...

Two Henrys and a Cattleman.........
All .22 and the Cattleman 12 shooter makes a great sidekick for the Henry Evil Roy lever carbine. The Pump is a fun time too on the plate rack!

That's a beauty of a High Wall ! I have the Uberti version High Wall Carbine and either shoot 405 gr. or .500.gr 45-70 torpedos out of it.

Re: New S&W Pistol
That's a nice one! My all around carry is the Springfield XDE in .45 ACP. Very handy and slim for a .45 pistol and is hammer fired which I like and it shoots very well with my 6.3 Unique load under a 230 XTP bullet.

New guy here......
Hi from Va. ! Own several Henry and Uberti leverguns and look forward to gathering and sharing information about them. My latest addition to the collection is a Uberti 1873 Carbine chambered in .44 Magnum. Have searched and found little info. on them and no reviews on how well they shoot or have hel...
