I can count on one hand the individuals to whom I would entrust my family, my possessions or in which I would place my implicit trust to have my back come hell or high water. One of these men is Scott Tschirhart. One thing I've NEVER heard him do is comment on someone else's character based on hears...

Pansies. Why is it that everyone in the world now needs counseling after any tramatic event?!? Because they didnt get into enough fights growing up and not enough western movies. Nope, I figured it out! I couldn't put my finger on it while making my original post but it now occurs to me that crocks...

I think Scovill is a snake. I think he did Fred Zeglin of Z hat custom guns wrong by using Hawk bullets and writing an article testing them and then start calling it the Hawk/Scovill. You mean sorta like when Elmer Keith said he had to make the front driving band of his 45 Colt bullet shorter than ...

I have a Ruger Montado that was a gift from a few folks who visit this sight on occasion and it will make a dandy CCW. The only reason I'm not carrying it yet is the gun is so tight the chambers are tighter than a Freedom Arms (and I'm not exagerating) and I had to put together some loads with new v...
Your gunshop is feeding you bull. Current dealer pricing is running in the $375.00 range for the stainless 44 mags.
Amateurs....I believe that's the problem:) They have a bunch of new kids there and the guys that I order my guns from have all been on vacation. I think he was looking...

1886, et al, What is so dangerous about a one-piece firing pin? I see no problem, at all, with putting in a one-piece firing pin. How many other leverguns have one-piece pins? The Winchester 92 design has one. Until recent years, they had NO safety, save the half-cock. My Henry .22 has a one-piece ...

Re: Marlin
OK, I really thought this was done AND I guess will try to refrain from speaking colloquially ever again. But, It's not the shape of the bolt that matters. Both square and round lock up the same way, amount of bearing surface area not withstanding. Yes, It's the frame - one that goes all the way ar...

Re: Marlin
As far as the square bolt thing: its just a round bolt with the corners left on. The Marlins in rifle cartridges have the corners knocked off. (Buy American) This is absolutely not true. A round bolt Marlin 336 action can easily handle 50,000 CUP loads and though some folks push them so to their hu...

do yall read the king james version or the new version?? I was thinking about picking up a new version..I think it will be easier for me to understand. Try the New Kind James...it still has a nice style to it but it is imminently readable and flows very well and is based on the same text as the KJV...

Anyone know what the 92 Rossis are going for?
I planning on ordering a stainless 16" 44 Mag and while checking on the price my normal gun shop told me cost (their cost) was 471. I'm thinking that's about retail unless these things have gun up substantially. I generally pay 5-10% over cost and I'm thinking he was seeing retail. All the guys...

When Winchester went everyone was saying they hoped someone would buy the name and produce Model 70's and 94's again. Well, Remington apparently is keeping Marlin from going down the same path...or at least they aren't dropping off the map....and everyone's gonna bitch about it. I guess if Remington...

I bet Remington bought them because they can't compete against them and they are gonna shut them down entirely so people will buy Remington rifles again  Seriously...come on guys, we don't have a clue what's gonna happen but I'm sure Remington didn't buy them to paint them pink and see if t...

The Dreaded Marlin Jam is such a HUGE problem that it's hard to find a 94 Marlin right now...at least here in Texas. You just about can't walk into a gun store and find one on a shelf. They can't order one because the warehouses are bone dry on 94's and back-ordered. I know a few CAS's who fire thou...
