With Democrats in control of the House and Senate in the current Congress, gun owners were not surprised to learn the so-called “Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act” was introduced in the House.
But surprisingly, Republicans Mark Kirk of Illinois and Mike Castle of Delaware are forcing passage of the bill in an election year where Democrats rarely want to even talk about new gun control schemes. Since being introduced in June, three more Republicans have rushed to cosponsor the bill: Chris Shays (R-CT), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), and Mike Ferguson (R-NJ).

Politics - House Republicans Introduce “Assault Weapons Ban”
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

I noticed that they are mostly from northeast, but still, it should not be happening. On the contrary, it should be stopped by the ones that haven't lost their mind.

Sad to say, but most Republicans are generally nothing more than "Democrat Lite" - that's why I'm a Libertarian, who will reluctantly support Republicans as the lesser evil, but can never get enthused about a party which constantly wants to regulate, tax, and micromanage citizens' lives. Of course they SAY they don't, but looking at their record gives the lie to that claim. Democrats are more blatant/honest about it.

Yep, lesser of two evils. Those sound like a bunch of RINOs, but then again, almost all of them are.
It does sound like Palin though is a true-blue old-style (Reagan) conservative!!!

"one issue voter".
"lesser evil".
Thanks a lot.
You think accepting McClown was hard?
It's only going to get worse.

You could have been near enough if had been the House, but we didn't get the Senate until much later.T B Good wrote:If I recall, Bill Clinton did not get the Brady bill till after the Republican Senate passed it.
