Primer prices

Post by geobru »

I went into a local BiMart and made a siwash through the sporting goods department and noticed a major change. Primers were out on a shelf where I could get what I wanted without having to get a clerk to retrieve them from behind the counter. The real eye catcher was he prices. CCI primers were regular priced at $5.49 or $5.99 per hundred! Up until now, prices have been anywhere from $8.99 to $11.99 at Cabela's and BiMart when they have them.

I am wondering if this is a fluke, or are primer prices actually coming down. What are you guys seeing in your neck of the woods?

Suppliers seem to have lowered prices, some types or brands more than others.

I picked some up in december at a small local show that a larger dealer was set up at, $50/1000, then $45/1000, then $40/1000, depending on how many one bought.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

Definitely down around here for primers. Powder hasn't seemed to move in the same direction yet though.

Around here it is still $89 and up per thousand.
There is a Bass Pro Outpost store opening in Ft. Smith this week that should increase the competition a little if they carry any reloading supplies.

I bought my last case just before the pandemic... paid $169 for it. Still unopened, but, I'm down to my last couple hundred from the previous case. When I open this one, I'll start shopping for the next one.

The lowest I've seen lately for SPP are White River for $35 per thousand over at Republic Ammunition.

Stock up at low prices while you can. If and I hope not, the GOP loses the 2026 and the 208 elections, the democrats will produce anti-firearm bills. As a result, prices up, supply down. It has happened before.
