Henry vs Armadillo
These southern USA pests are very destructive to lawns and landscaping. But its armor plating was no match for my 22LR hollow tip bullet. TR

They do a lot of damage to lawns and gardens. I have run over one, and it would have been fine if it hadn't jumped up and committed suicide by trying to pick my vehicle up.

Re: Henry vs Armadillo
Way back in the early days of the century we had an opportunity for the first "family hunt" since we were kids. My cousin was up from Brazil, we were up from Coffee Country and so we got together with my brother and my sons and my cousin. Didn't have enough guns to go around at the time without digging into my brother's limited southpaw armory. My cousin got to use his lefty Savage 110 in 7mm-08. While sitting on his stand he saw a tatú (as they are called down south of the Amazon) and since there'd been no deer action in his area all day he decided to take the shot. Needless to say, that 7mm-08 didn't leave enough 'dillo to grease a skillet with! He was a bit disappointed as they're virtually extinct down there and it'd been years since we'd had one to eat.

I dated a gal from Hallettsville Texas. Her dad was the elected Constable there and the armadillos were causing hell in the local cemetery. So we would chase them around at night with our duty pistols. He had an old Hawes single action in .357 and I had a Colt Gold Cup. We killed a truckload of armadillos over a couple of years.
