made meat today.

Post by veeman »

Winchester 94 Chief Crazy Horse 38/55 did the job today, 30 yard shot. Here in Illinois we can use rifles now as long as it's a single shot. I made it so by putting a wooden dowel in the mag tube. Think I'll do it again tomorrow!

Nice! Congrats. I guess the deer didn't get the memo about the 38-55 being obsolete.

GREAT JOB! I love how well those old "obsolete" calibers work.

Great All Around. I'd love to See the Game Wardens face trying to figure out a single shot 94. .

I'm sure he know what to look for as it's the law here.

Today the Same rifle made more meat as the good Lord brought me a nice 8 pointer. 88 yard shot.

I'm in Stephenson county, just south of Freeport, which borders Wisconsin, NW part of the state. My load it 18.0 of 2400 with a Barnes 255g .377 bullet.

Nice work Veeman. Were you tempted to do the same with one of your 1876s? 8)

Yes! I had left the 94 in the blind overnight (locked up). Had i taken it home I would have taken the 45-60 out for the buck. Next season for sure, I may buy another tag for next week.
