Gun and Knife Pictures

Post by LeverGunner »

I did a search and didn't find any current gun and knife picture threads. I do take a few combo pics from time to time, so I'll get us started.

Great idea!
(Almost as much fun as "chicks with guns" )

Here's my S&W No.3, Model 2 (Schofield) in .38 Spcl by Uberti, with Elk Stag grips; along with an Edge Brand/Germany large Bowie.

All these have come about in last 5 years, and really love every item for their use, the rifle my favorite 30-30 and took both these deer. The Kimber? My lifelong favorite handgun is my Mod 19 S&W 357, but for packing in woods, this Kimber 4", hardly know it's there, and when I got a rifle, I don't carry it, but most time I have the Kimber, especially here lately, 3-4 times a week in mountains. The pocket knife, anymore its my favorite EDC, even tho I've had Case XX, especially Trappers, all my life, got 3-4 now, plus other name brands, but this little Old Timer just carries without notice, small multi tool. The Gerber Freeman? Worth way way more than the $32 I paid for it, razor edge EASY, and by time I'd field dressed that buck on right last fall, it's still razor sharp. I've got better, even the first Buck 110 I bought in 1974? 3to1 rather gave the Gerber! I'm one the very few who don't really like a Buck 110, too heavy, hard to sharpen, wrong blade shape.

That's a perfect packing combo right there. How do you like that Buck 113 Cabelas Guide?

I saw the Guide series up there some years back and didn't pull the trigger on one, mostly because I didn't care for the Cabelas logo on the blade. But I am a Buck fan, and love my 192 Vanguard.

Thanks. I like that knife. It really holds an edge. The Freedom Arms....sadly I had to sell it. I bought it to carry in grizz country while packing elk, (and it was so cool). I figured if a bear got me, at least my kids would come looking for me if I had the Freedom Arms! Now that I'm packing a S&W .44 mag they'll probably wait till spring!!

part of my current EDC -- i am more proficient with the Officer's 1911 than i am with a full size, any of my Glocks or P-series Sigs.
been carrying it in a Galco belt slide on a non traditional Dynamis Alliance gun belt

My well used and well loved DeLeon is always with me when im doing outdoorsy things, but it gets stowed in the console of the truck if im running into a restaurant or store as i usually have a folder in my pocket. i tend to misplace folders at such a high frequency that i actually just picked up a blister pack of Gerbers at Sams Club a few months ago and always have one on me

Thank you!
That Remington was my grandfather's field knife while he was a Maine game warden in the Allagash. This was prior to and during WW2. He didn't carry the SAA. He had a Colt Army Special and a High Standard model B that he carried. Both of which I still have. The brass compass was also his. A gift from my grandmother. It's inscribed inside with his name and the year 1942.

Thank you very much for the details. That's very awesome that you have all that. I don't have anything like that hat was passed down to me.

I don't think I've ever seen a Remington knife handle like that. Though I'm not a Remington knife collector (yet) I do take notice of them when I see them.

Thank you. The knife is not tremendously old (15 years or so) but keeping a carbon steel blade in the sheath all the time accelerated the patina on mine greatly

I met Mr DeLeon at a gun show in the late 90's and he made a big combat dagger for me - it never was used for anything , so i figured if i ever had another custom made, it would be something more practical - this one has fit the bill for years

Kind of want something even smaller now though, like a 4" drop point

I'm a big Case XX fan. I've carried this 65 pattern Folding Hunter for a couple of years now. I do switch out my belt knife for others, but I keep coming back.

This I think is the most recent picture of my Blackhawk. You can really see the holster wear in this picture. I've carried it constantly for something like 3 years now.
