Smokehouse Creek Fire

Post by ole pizen slinger »

Looks like the Adobe Walls battle area is involved in the Smokehouse Creek fire. Turkey Track Ranch devastated by fire. Can anyone from Texas confirm?

That would be a shame. But it’s been dry and very windy.

It started very near there. I can't imagine the monument or Billy Dixon's grave could have been seriously damaged.

Fitting tribute to the old frontiersman, Scott.
That fire is now at 1,075,000 acres and has run all the way east across the Oklahoma border and only 5 percent contained. And more red flag conditions are due this weekend. Praying for those firefighters and all in harm's way. :(

The area I work is just north of Canadian, lots of damage to farms, oil and gas structures, fences, outbuilidings.......toward Canadian.

I cannot confirm about the area you are asking about, most of the field hands I talk to are closer to Beaver Ok and Liberal Ks.

A conflagration in real-time. Prayers UP for all involved, and for the fires to end now . . .

Prayers up. Wish we could send you some of our rain. I'm considering building an ark...
