Those are cute kids! My son gave those rifles to his kids, pink ones for the girls and black for the guy. They are all pretty reliable shots by now . . .

That's great! I started my kids early also. They are grown now with kids of their own and they still shoot.

HF when they hit about twelve you need to get them heavy rifles for bullwinkle and Smokey ! I’d say 375 H&H for the little man and a 300 H&H for the little lady

Awesome! I love seeing this!

I got Y2K his first rifle, also a .22 bolt action, for his first Christmas. I wanted to make sure he got his first rifle from his Dad in case anything happened to me. He shot it for the first time when he was a hair over 2 years old, with a lot of help from me. I really just wanted to get him used to wearing eye and hearing protection, and to never shoot without it.

Two thumbs up, HF. Thats the way to start them out. I bought my two grandsons a Browning BL2 each when they were born. They are now 20 and 13 years old. The 20 year old is leaning toward being a Levergunner. He borrowed my BB94 356 to deer hunt this year. The 13 year old likes AR's better, though he was admiring my BB94 444 today when we were hunting. Anyway I am working on them!
I bought my grand-daughters pink laminated stocked 10-22's. They are not very interested in shooting much, but at least they are not against it.

You are a fine granddad!

This old Scotsman bought one standard chipmunk (pink) 25 years ago and have used it for multiple g and gg kids to date. Still sitting in my safe waiting for the next kid.

I started both my kids on a Remington Nylon 66. At a little over 4 lbs it was light enough for them to hold up at an early age.

I was tooling around a gun show with my daughter on my shoulders back when she was 4 years old. She, of course, finds the only thing pink in the building - a chipmunk. I thought to myself, having refinished a Marlin for myself and the Marlin for Y2K, I could do better. So I trotted off that week to one of my go-to small gun shops and ask the owner for a "restoration special". He has one just like the one I refinished for myself (a Marlin 25), functioned perfectly, but needed refinished. So I did it in pink and gave it to her for that Christmas. I'll have to find a picture of her getting it.

These are the gifts that last generations. :D
