We were setting trusses today, that went well except for up and down ladders all day!
We went a little longer to get finished up but I had a 4pm at the vet for puppy shots.
I rushed to get home, put the dogs outside, grab a crate and get it in the car.
Put Sage on a leash, halfway to the car she decides she doesn't want to walk. Cajole her into walking and get her loaded. Then all of a sudden from the backyard I hear puppy screaming! I run around the house to see Popeye hanging upside down on the puppy fence! Parker is in my way going through the gate. I think I picked her up by her skin and threw her- all a blur as I was focused on Pop upside down. I ran to him and in a split second I assess what needs done. Lift and twist him loose, he tried to jump or climb the fence and got his right rear leg between the wire of the hog panel.He squirms out of my grasp and hits the ground running! Not a whimper or a whine- he's ok!
Get him on a leash and go to the car and loaded.
Away we go. Get to the vet on time .
So the last time we were there I mentioned Sage had a lump in her armpit. Vet and I both thought an abcess from a bite by one of her brothers. Antibiotics for a week. Knowing we had another appointment today it would get looked at again.
Take a guess what it was?
Give up?
A BOTFLY LARVAE!!!
Vet squeezed it like a bit zit and it popped out!
