40 Years Yesterday!

Post by Old No7 »

My beautiful bride and I celebrated 40 years yesterday!

Gosh, I was such a young -- and lucky -- buck way back then... Like many, we had some ups & downs, tears & smiles, loves (2 kids, dogs, new friends) and losses (parents, dogs, other family) and all along the way, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Sure, it was work at times, but anything worthwhile is for sure.

So here's to 40 more!!!

She "couldn't choose between all her girlfriends", so I had to choose my 3 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law and 3 fraternity brothers just to even up the bridal party...

Finding the right person to spend your life with is the greatest gift one can receive. I congratulate you both; you on your luck and your wife on her patience. :D

As one who celebrated 50 yrs some 6 weeks ago, I understand how blessed one is to still be with THE ONE.

Congratulations Old No 7! Wishing you many more. My Bride and I have made it 43. It can be hard at times, but I try to
live by the advise an old family friend said to us before we were married, " If both of you put more into the marriage than
you take out of it you will make it". There is a lot to that.

Congratulations,

Absolutely! I realized very early in our dating that if you just attempt to meet them half way, you'll both fail. In marriage both parties half to be willing to go all the way over to the other's position at times to make it work.

I'm lucky as my wife is mostly a saint as she puts up with my craziness most of the time but when we are at odds, we both work hard to not meet in the middle but go all the way over to the other side.

Only 34 years for my wife and I. One great Uncle made it to 73 years before she died of cancer. His Mother did not think she was right for him.
