A cousin introduced me to his music in the late '70s and was a big part of our lives growing up. Sailing the Great Lakes, Caribbean and Central American waters, his songs were always playing.
Couldn't give a rats butt about his politics. It's almost like we lost part of the family.

Sail on, Sir and thank you for the great memories..

I appreciated the man, his advocacy for quail conservation -- and his music. A man's politics don't mean much to me; they mean absolutely nothing to God.

Jimmy died from complications from skin cancer. According to the news this morning He had one that was wore than melanoma. . I had a stage zero melanoma last year . it took three surgeries and I had a hole in my face the size of a bottle cap to get it All. I am as stubborn as a donkey......... But if You are older than 30 go to the dermatologist and get checked out. It takes 5 minuets for the DR. to look You over . I get naked for a 40 year old Women twice a year . They have seen it all before. It can easily save Your Life.

I really need to go to a dermatologist. Like so many of us, back in the day, we built up a tan to protect us from the sun - the hard way. Every year.

RIP Jimmy.
