Garden guns? .22 smoothbores
Does anyone have any experience with .22 smooth bores that I think they used to refer to as a “garden gun?”

I read an article about the Henry Garden gun, from what I remember it threw impressive patterns to about 10 yards!

Re: Garden guns? .22 smoothbores
I used .22 shot shells in rifled guns with very poor results, then I acquired a Webley garden gun in .22 with a choked smooth bore barrel it was a big improvement but still not very effective on Pigeons or Rats past 18 feet. The 9mm flobert garden gun was a little better. These little shot shells were mainly used in built up locations and were useful when you didn't want to damage structures etc. I never had a chance to use the .22 magnum shot shell so I can't comment on those.

I don't have any experience with those, I did experiment with 38 special shot loads and was highly unimpressed... I would think at the range the loads are practical you might as well use a pellet gun....YMMV

Yes and don't bother. An airgun is better!

Scott, it looks like you have plenty of land and not a lot of close neighbors, so upscale away!
