Finally had a chance to add a model 12 to the slide action collection . Auction with poor pictures and description allowed me to snag it at a very low price . Gambled and won.
Rifle looked like it hadn't been touched in 75 years, finish had a fine haze over it , little wool and oil and detail cleaning found a very nice solid shooter grade rifle with a near perfect bore.
All I had today was some CCI Target ,as all you can shoot in these is SV ammo.luckily the locking lugs were in nice condition. I'm learning these and Savage you have to be careful as a lot of folks don't know and destroy them by shooting HV ammo.

Few more , has the late style bolt with internal round FP which is supposedly stronger.
