2023 Southern Side by Side

The Southern Side by Side in Sanford NC is upon us ! Starts April 26 ends April 30th . Plenty of competitions in various classes and events . There’s even a pump class ! Also plenty of vendors with guns you may only see once in a lifetime . I’ll be there if for nothing else but to shoot in the Parker vs LC Smith challenge events and of course to see friends , eat plenty and drink a little . https://www.southernsidebyside.com/

If only I could get away, that is a shoot I would really like to get to. But 2 hounds and my Mom my traveling is very limited!

In preparation for the Southern I shot at Prospect Hall in WVA this past Friday with my Parker VH 20 32” which was the first time I’ve shot claybirds with the gun . This coming Thursday I’m planning to attend an Old Doimion Vintagers shoot in Providence Forge VA and shoot a Parker Grade 2 top lever hammer 10 gauge with 32” barrels . This coming Saturday I’m planning on shooting the WVA SxS shoot also at Prospect Hall and shoot a Parker VHE 12 gauge 32” vent rib Monte Carlo stocked trap gun . And then the following Saturday three days before the Southern I plan to do another Vintagers shoot in Remington VA and shoot my Parker DH 16 gauge 2 frame 32” gun . I’ll have used everything except my 8 gauge before heading to the Southern ! And I might shoot the 8 one Tuesday night at my local club just for the heck of it before I go .
