That was great, thank you.

That was fun, I remember those old issues of Guns around my granddad's house when I was a kid.

You suppose those 357 Martini's are still available?

I have mentioned this in the past, when I was just a kid I spent my pocket money on old American gun magazines that I believe came over the pond as ballast, the problem was they were always a couple of years old and were mixed up with old girlie magazines that I had to sort through, I remember getting disapproving looks from old ladies :
Those old magazines taught me a lot ( won't say which ones)..

I noticed the $125 for the Colt Python and Ted Williams selling Crossman pellet guns. Interesting.

That was great. I just picked up a Great Western 22 a couple weeks back and there on page 3 is a full page advertisement.

I love these old mags, great way to study history to learn what things were really like back in the day. On my desk here I have the March 1957 Issue of Guns magazine which contains a lengthy article about the development of the AR rifle , with speculation if it will become the new GI rifle. Also an April 1973 issue of the American Rifleman detailing the new sport of metallic silhouette being started by Southern Arizona clubs. In another bookcase, my 1958 Herter's catalog. Fun stuff.

I remember that, living there during those years. Silhouette shooting got started by the shooting matches in Mexico where you shot at live goats and chickens and pigs and other animals. Afterwards there was always a big barbecue. In 1948 there is a report of the first metallic silhouette match that was held in Mexico City. Some US shooters started crossing the border to shoot in the metallic silhouette matches. In 1968 the Tucson Rifle Club held the first metallic silhouette match in the US and the sport grew from there.
