Range trip.

I'd bought these two a while ago, took them out to the range on different trips and neither did better than 6" or so at 25 yds. I put them back in the cabinet and went on to another distraction.
Got to thinking about them the other day and realized I had shot them both with the same 124 gr. Federal ammo. The 124s shoot really well in my Luger, P38, MPX and a couple other 9mms.
I got out a couple boxes of 115 gr and 147 gr Federal, CCI and Winchester and went to an indoor range on this windy, stormy morning.

Both the Springfield 1911 and H&K P30 shot quite well at 20 yds, two hand hold, with the 147 gr. Winchester JHP and Federal FMJ flat nose ammo. The H&K turned out a very close POA for both the 115 gr and 147s. The Springfield had two distinct groups between the two with the 115s a bit more spread out and lower POI.
Overall a good range trip and I'm quite pleased with both pistols. I had been planning on ordering a case or two of 9mm now that the prices are coming down. I sent most of a case with my dad when he left for FL in Oct.
I've had hit and miss luck with Springfield pistols and this is my first H&K. Really like the trigger on the Springfield and the exposed hammer on the H&K.

How did the Commander shoot?

He loves the Kel-Tec. I've shot it a couple times and have to admit, though I was never a big fan of bullpup rifles, but this one is pretty darn neat!

I can't believe how good the Tisas 1911 Commander shoots. Right out of the box. It has not jammed once, handles great, and is accurate. I practically stole the thing too; Classic Arms was running a sale over Christmas and I picked it up for $349.99! I had been watching their adds for a couple months, watching it drop from $449 to $429, to $399. Saw a review of a Tisas 1911 on InRangeTV and figured I'd give it a try. I am very happy with it!

Sometimes you role the dice though and come up snake eyes. I don't normally sell or trade firearms, but today dumped a shotgun I had picked up the middle of last year. It was a "duo-sys" made in Turkey and imported by SDS. It is both an automatic and a pump. I just couldn't get it to run, and didn't want to sink the money into it to try to get it to do so. Lost $110 on it, but I'm not upset. You win some and you lose some!

I'm a big fan of the Tisas 1911s. I have a pair of their 1911A1s and they've both been 100% reliable and a ton of fun to shoot.
Good news about the carbine, glad those magazines worked out!

I have a Tisas Duty .45 on its way, due next week; paid $400 at Buds. I chose the full-size so that I have the option to "Super" it -- and heard Tisas was going to cut back or drop the Duty line.

That would be a shame. I am really impressed. Granted, it is not a Colt or some others, but it is a solid, reliable firearm. Hard to go wrong with a 1911 under 4 c-notes!

I’ve not been to the gun club rifle or pistol range in close to a year I think . This past hunting season I checked the ML and the couple rifles in my front yard (I live in the country and own a decent amount on each side the yard). I’ve got a Sako 6mm PPC HB and a Remington 700 BDL Varmint 222 that I wanna get back to the range this summer and shoot them a bunch . Just five shot 100 yard groups from the bench . Even though we’re a private club and not quite as bad as a public range I get kinda put off by the other folks there .
