Post by donw »

I know the state is beautiful, and there is plenty of work there - but why stay and put up with that stuff?

For me it was better to stay and have decent paying job - or move somewhere else to be unemployeed or accept a lower-paying job outside my profession.. I find result of not being able to own guns because of laws or because of not being able to afford them to be roughly the same in the end.

FWIW, I'd read somehere that there are more firearms owned per capita in CA that any other state. As much as it angers me that I can't buy an UZI anymore, I can still enjoy any levergun that's out there. And now days, there are companies that are making parts to legalize many military-style firearms - like FAL's and AR's. So folks that think people in CA can't own guns don't really know the whole story.
Politicians and diapers both require frequent changing for the EXACT same reason!

My excuse for being here is that I'm a native. I'm a conservative and I am not alone here. We are all fighting the socialist agenda at the ballot box and standing against agendas. Agendas like the latest lead ban that crept in under the radar effective July 1, 2008...

A lot of people probably think that if Gavin and brown were running things, "it would be safer for the children". Gag me!!! I'm a native prune picker, but left there in 1975, I'll take the Kansas wind any day, even with a libertal demoncrat as governor here.

I lke to poke fun at the liberals by looking at this a slightly different way.....

The Libs really aren't liberals at all. They are Conservative spies in deep cover.

How else can we explain laws that force us to shoot burglars with 30-06's and 12ga 870's, instead of a wimpy 9mm or a 45gr jhp .223 (stays inside the violent felon's body)????

I mean, real libs would want us to use a (kinder and gentler) ground hog bullet (45gr. JHP 223). But instead, they force us to use BEAR bullets (180gr JSP 30-06).

HAH!! Who are they trying to kid?? They are Democratic Conservatives in deep cover!!

the lead ban does not cover the entire state...yet...and there's plenty of non-lead ammo available...even in .22 mag. there's a list on the dfg's website of non-lead ammo available now.

what concerns me is the one who introduced the lead ban...Ridley...

ridley is an AVID anti-firearms legislator who ususally introduces some sort of anti-gun legislation every session. this person should be removed from the legislature.

but you're right...they do manage to slip things by quite frequently don't they?

I guess I just think of it this way. Most people I know that own firearms take personal responsibility very seriously. They are law-abiding, productive members of society. If any area (city, state, etc.) decides to chase away these kinds of people they do so to their own detriment. I would LOVE to see CA and other left-leaning places pay the true price for their idiocy. If all the productive members of society flipped them the bird, en masse, and moved out of state, it would be hillarious!!!

I'm surprised Moonbeam Brown doesn't run again. He tried real hard to ruin the state the 1st time. Newsom could be the Anti-Christ as far as I'm concerned.

So why do they call us prune pickers? You don't grow or pick prunes, you make them.
