Brings to mind my dad's tale of his bayonet training in 1943. The instructor demonstrated that firing a round would create a sufficient recoil impulse to dislodge a bayonet lodged in an enemy's body. Dad earned quite a few pushups when he asked, "Sarge, if I have a round left why the heck am I using a bayonet?"

Looks like a neat idea I wonder if they ever experimented with one on a .455 Webley revolver?

Thought it was neat never seen one and would like to find one but sounds like they are quite rare. :)

The Wilkinson version almost looks like art.

Ingenious solution to a very real problem, but perhaps not the most practical approach.

We went out and made one, not a exact replica but close the one in the picture doesn`t go on the barrel as a Garand does so had to modify a little.
Used a reproduction bayo for the project.

Heck ya it works, this video is only for showing that a replica antique works not for general use. :)

Beautiful work Lenn. Did you shoot a wire in two with it? I've shot them in two accidently when hunting prairie dogs. I know for sure it works. Had to dig in the pickup bed to find stuff to fix the fence with.
