Rover lands on Mars!
It doesn't look like anyone posted on this that I could see, but the video of the surface of Mars in the Rover's descent is astonishing! Way to go NASA!!!! More footage to come in the future too. -Tutt

Re: Rover lands on Mars!
Humans are SO good at technology; we just can’t get along and keep from wanting to take one another’s stuff and tell others how to live...
The Libertarians who set up the U.S. had the idea; we have just dropped the ball on the followup and maintenance.
Still the technology is cool.
Maybe someday the rebels will sail across the sky to conquer a new world, and form a more perfect union, where citizens grant government limited power instead of begging government to dole out freedom to the citizens...
Hopefully they will take more care to preserve it.

i don't see much chance of getting a half billion people anywhere near mars, or the moon for that matter.Ray wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 10:36 pm There is something like over a half a billion folks from all over the world and all walks of life who have signed-up for a clearly understood one way trip to mars with less than a year expected life span there. Dedicated volunteers in the interest of science or suicidal flakes ?

Re: Rover lands on Mars!
there is definately life on mars. i saw the martians scurrying to get out of the way of the big tank invading their peaceful domain. can unions and welfare be very far ahead?CowboyTutt wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:46 pm It doesn't look like anyone posted on this that I could see, but the video of the surface of Mars in the Rover's descent is astonishing! Aside from the obvious, it's amazing that they are making their own 02 using MOXIE....it removes the two oxy atoms from C02 and stores them.

Re: Rover lands on Mars!
It's kind of funny how the red Mars soil looks so much like the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona.

Yea, and what about that helicopter thing? I mean mars air is so thin and the gravity is so light, how the heck is the mars copter supposed to get off the ground??? Talk about a BIG waste of $$$$$$$$ I mean, even on earth, copters have to beat the air into submission to get off the ground! On mars, there is no air!

Re: Rover lands on Mars!
I'm a fan of space exploration, and have followed it since I was a kid and we first put men in space. I am still astonished at the technology people have developed to reach out in space. But even more astonished at the ability to send us back pictures from remote places like Mars that take months just to fly there! And not just pictures, but great resolution images too!
I love looking in on anything NASA or others involved in space flight are doing!

Mars seems to have had an atmosphere at one time. The rocks have some weathering. I wonder what is there to be found.

ICYMI, Mars has an atmosphere (you can hear the wind) it's just that there's hardly any 02.

There was the book of Enoch, but the Powers That Be removed it from the Bible. Spaceships, giants, other worlds. Wow....
