Well....went right past Costco and on to Petsmart...got cat litter...enough for three months or so......then came back and stopped at Costco for gas...cheaper for members...$4.45 for 93 octane......13 gallons+..$60...should be good for another month....I have to put Staybil in the Rubicon but it's such a PITA to lift off that heavy cover.........yea....no life me.....

Asked mom, "where to next"...she, "dunno"......me, "you have 10 seconds or forever hold your demands."....went home....f.i.

On to this government thing.......I'm smart enough to know that when something does not make sense that there's an ulterior motive and ya know what?...nothing makes sense....when Trump was POTUS, everything made sense.....

I still can't get over "woke kindergarten". :D --007

I finally freakin won one!

And it's a goodun. Yes! I'd love a nice Smith 44.
I can't make my mind up, so I'll take both! :D
I know in reality it's no choice. That 1950 Target is primo stuff.
But I will freely admit, being a child of the 70s and 80s, I love the Smiths of that era.

Watching the news...in Philly 2 chimps were walking a pit bull when they saw a persons docile pet cat sitting on a porch.....the 2 chimps ran up to the porch and unleashed the dog and the dog tore the cat to pieces.....don't expect anyone to reply to this....people are scared to talk.....I don't look at it like hate...I look at it like realism...just reporting like the news does...

Yeah buddy. Makes me sick. The problem is these animals don't fear justice. And I don't mean the court system. Justice fears the court system too. Cause if there were any justice, those chimps wouldn't have dared, and if they had they'd be dead.

What's so funny about me dying? :D .heck, I don't worry about it.....at 67 what's left? 5 good years? Rossi's doubled in value??!! From $10 to $20? :D Hey 45 Colt...don't take it seriously...I'm only playing. Rossi puts a lot of guns in the hands of people and the more of us with guns the more the left will fear us....or at least they will know we outnumber them.---006

For the record: it's NOT the pit bulls fault. As such the dog shouldn't be punished. Originally the pit bull was a 'nanny dog' , protector of children. They are great dogs, if they hunted birds I'd have one! Guy we are doing a kitchen for has a Philly rescue pit, she had been bred and either confiscated or turned loose when she was rescued. Absolutely the sweetest, most happy dog.

Huh, The Weather Channel is 40 years old and they still can't get the forecast right!

I didn't blame the dog, Gunny.

Thanks OldWin , Good Luck to Your Dad. The first 25 years I lived here that was a common sight on My dirt road this time of year. it was a real job to convince a lot of the landowners to vote to get the road paved. when it was dirt the worst was the summer with the dust and everybody driving like bats out of hell. sure don't miss it.

Follow up on muzzle of a 4 3/4” Colt. This shot is from one in an on line auction from a Colt 3rd Gen. It looks like mine and came as a 4 3/4” from Colt. So I think mine is also factory.

I know you weren't Jay!
When I lived in CO there were paved roads in town but only the interstate and a state hiway were paved, everything else was dirt. Dust & mud were a part of life, it was very common to see cars stuck at every turn come mud season. Got me & before I knew it I was in a ditch driverside down , had to crawl out the passenger side window. The farmer almost lost his tractor pulling me out.

Now listen here folks.......45 Colt and me are Teamsters.......Fred, now you look at 45's humor...it's identical to mine.......

That would be cool....excellent thought process 45! OK, .............listen in......

When you get old most anything someone else says rings a memory so here's my memory on shot up cars in da hood.....
Gene, our yard jockey was a black dude but lived in a very bad part of da hood in Chester, Pa.......Gene was cool and we had lots of laughs together but he had a money issue...all of his money went to "cool stuff" and good times. This guy worked 6-7 days a week and was pulling in close to a hundred g's a year.....always on time and he did his job......

So........Gene decides to buy a new Caddy which you guys know bring lots of loot...80g's?...So Gene was telling us about his thinking on a new Caddy and Bill, my buddy said, "Gene, your a cool guy and a hard worker but you live in the middle of da hood and the hood rats are just gonna screw your car up or steal it as they get jealous."

Well, Gene could not resist as he was thinking about all the attention he would get while he pulled up to the "Shon-Shay bar" on third st.....Gene signs the papers with $1,000 down and payments of $900 a month.......buys himself a new Zoot Suit, top hat and then goes to the Auto Zone for gold plated curb feelers and heads on down to the Shon-Shay......he's riding high......

He gets to the Shon Shay and walks in like he owns the place, buys a round of drinks and the girls all swoon him, promising acts of pleasure for a ride in the new Caddy, even though Gene is married with four kids.....

After partying for two hours Gene goes for a few rides and makes it home.....sleeps his 3 hours and gets up to head to da plant for another day behind the wheel of the jockey truck......he walks down the steps from his house and discovers a half dozen bullet holes in his new Caddy.......

That's for real....me and my buds just looked at each other and silently laughed.--------006

Well.....one of the few things s.c. has over Pa. is the sunshine...raining and cold here...miserable......

What's with the school bus in da mud?

Oh! There's so many posts to read and respond to...the tractor trailer golf cart......hideous.......like all of the Jeep golf carts that Kris Jenner bought for all of her rats.......

I'd rather struggle a little bit as when you have too much money you think of stupid stuff like exotic golf carts......

That's quite a hunk of meat you have there....better hurry and eat it before there's a smash and grab at your house......you never know when the hood rats are lurking and smelling......grilled steak smells a long way off and that flank steak is a high priority....

Anytime anybody has something of value more than $50 the hood rats believe it should be theirs......

That woman who's trying to get on SCOTUS is a radical leftist.....her record proves it......Gitmo, child porn, and "Woke Kindergarten".......

FRED!!....Your Colt IS factory........there were 3 main reasons for changing/cutting barrels on FIRST gens.......deception to bring more resale value, personal preferences, or previously done damage......the deception motive was not done until later years.

On later generations it was seldom done as availability of anything you wanted was there......On a new condition gun such as yours it's EASY to detect a cut down barrel even if the best of the best do it..........if it was a barrel change...well....it's a barrel change, done for personal preference......

There's little to NO motive for financial gain to cut down a longer barrel on a third gen gun........

Then there's the guy who is never satisfied, like you....... and is always wondering.....staring off into space......unable to make that 15' put on the ninth hole because of inner fear that you got "took" on making a purchase......so collectors, dealers, skeptics and worry warts came up with a solution.......FACTORY LETTER........so, for the price of a dozen good golf balls, YOU can have a factory letter too! :D

Did I sound sarcastic or vitriol? :D ---006 a.k.a. "Mr Colt"

Cleverly sarcastic :) yes to be appreciated. Vitriolic, No and I certainly appreciate your expertise not only on the Colts but into the whole environment that this all take place.

Now regarding your foray into psychology, where I do have a degree, that is a little sketchier. When you go off into my golf psychology and my attitude that is downright in the dumpster. I am the opposite guy. I laugh at those who worry. Case in point, bets I won from Anthony betting money he owes me against him. He claims I won the previous 100 on a one in a million shot. Well, the shot was for $100, what can I say.

Btw, Anthony is thought by some to be the best player out here. He is of African descent and drives a 100k BMW. Not the hood for sure.

Back in 86 a good buddy joined the Army. Before he left he bought a 67 Ford F100 that he was going to restore when he got out. It was parked behind the barn at his parents farm. His younger brother and I were over at the dump on the farm about 300 yards away shootin bottles , cans with 22s. As we were walking back to the house I said hey I bet ya cant hit the driver's mirror. 3 shots and he hit the mirror. Then I shot out the passenger side mirror from about 100 yards. Well that started it- we put tens of thousands of rounds into that truck! APs, tracers, slugs of every size, pounds of black powder. I stood on the roof and shot a smiley face in the hood. There wasn't a square inch of body panel without a bullet hole. Not long after their parents divorced and the family subdivided. It wouldn't roll so a track hoe was brought in to pick it up to put on a trailer. It fell apart so they dug a hole and buried it. Oh an an AP went clean through from grill, block, firewall, cab and the bed and stopped in the tailgate.

What a total disregard for other people property! Imagine, that patriotic soldier coming home, thinking while he's on the airplane on all of the cool things he's going to do with his '67 pick up! I don't go for that Gunny...that's outright WRONG.......where n the hell is your moral compass? Geeze! Let me tell you something about how I "helped" my inlaws.

We have/had (he's dead) a BIL that was the most "usiest" individual in the world. He sweet talk you into anything. After the third time of him borrowing something from me and I had to go down to get it back I declared "revenge". He had this 6 wheeler fun machine....remember those? It was broken so he decided to store it in my in laws barn even though he had the space at home but his dooryard was so cluttered he didn't want to be bothered with clearing out a space on his NINE acres.

My inlaws asked him to remove it as they needed the space for hay.....6 months later, nuttin'.....a year later...nuttin....he was asked continuously so one day I was in the barn shooting out the window. After I finished shooting I always keep a cylinder full of ammo "in case". While I was walking down the steps I spied this 6 wheeler and shot it up....man! Was he hot a few months later when he went to rob parts off of it for another 6 wheeler.

Don't know how but somehow it was traced back to me.

Fred....I have ZERO issue with ANYONE of ANY race who does not step on the liberties of anyone else and do their part to society as contributors....if they physically/mentally can.......correct me if I'm wrong...the first ten minutes of the news is black crime.

A family friend of my inlaws is a retired detective and he tells us we don't hear of 1/10 th of the crime that is committed by.....

I see your a high roller there, especially with the last Fed. Res. "Note"---00

Looks like OS has a tri-tip on the Weber Grill... My Wife's brother (who is a bachelor and the happiest Human I know) is pretty well off. Every time there is a holiday Al says "Get a bone in standing rib"!! I cook them on the Weber till they are just past rare ,let it stand for 15 min and stand back .as good as anything I have had in My life next to Elk.

I laugh at that too Gunny.......heck, if I was there, I would have been in on the action but going for the radiator.....with a 44. Over the years I don't think theres no non living thing I haven't shot.....TV's, toaster, several alarm clocks, a '55 Chevy in the woods out back, cinder blocks, engine blocks, electrical transformers, even a 2 month old '79 Ford Bronco. That last one was "accidental".

45 Colt is fitting right in.....that's great 45!

Did you guys see the bus in the mud on Jays post? That was interstate 95....has not been completed yet or maybe they just like it that way...---006

Thatc16 yr old Texas kid that rode out the tornado and drove his truck away needs to go teach those Mainiac bus drivers how to drive.

I can't make public most of what happened at the farm! Kinda like What happens at the farm stays at the farm !

Yea...I hear ya......like the time me and my BIL made a push lawn mower go 50' in the air.

That was a 16 year old kid in that pick up was from Texas? That explains it...they make em tough down there......could you imagine one of Pelosi's kids in that truck? First, it wouldn't have been a truck.....a Prius.....then there would have been hours of whining about climate control and how it was Trumps fault the tornado spun it around.....(I don't classify liberal people by their gender anymore....it's "it".----00

Wow! Lots going on.....
That pic of the bus is mud season. The bus driver was probably some transplant too.

Jeez Fred! We told you already your Colt was right.
If you are still unsure, I'll give you 500 bucks for it and take my chances. :D

Cars getting shot up down by Six.
Johnny said in my 94 post that old Six is riding around blaring the Sandord and Son theme in an 8-track in his green Caddy! Maybe he be da shooter?

That Johnny is a freakin riot!

Ok. Now I gotta get back to watching The Devils Rejects before my beer gets warm. :D

You know, OW knows his Colts. Think I paid $1895 but he has his finger on the pulse of the market. Maybe I better save myself while I can, maybe take his offer and pay the shipping before things go more sideways. Just be thankful I am not stuck with all Six’s stuff.

Haha! I tell ya buddy.....
Your old buddy Jay is just trying to look out for ya. Hate to see you get hurt.

I was packing my new SAA today. Out truck shopping. I'd rather get kicked in the sack. :D

$1895 for a SAA??!!!...wow, prices sure have changed......ya see those two 38-40's in my sig line? Custom shop guns and there's only a handful of 7.5 barrels made in that caliber.....$900 each NIB

The two special order SAA's with the walnuts and serial numbers "Sixgun1" and "2"?.....that took me three weeks to get while others have to wait 3 years?....$1750 each....

Well....don't have those connections anymore......the guy who got me them is still alive but doesn't know who he is.......and he only about 4 years older than me.....he's also the guy who got me those Colt archive vault guns....I don't have it anymore but I had an experimental double action Colt 1911 that came from their R & D shop.

This guy had carte blanche at the factory....he was rooting around one time and behind this wall was a full pallet of Vietnam era M-16's.......the story was that some construction guys were told to build this wall back in the sixties and there was junk back there so the supervisor said, "its junk, build the wall"....he bought the whole pallet from Colt......I saw some samples and could have had one or two but I never liked the red tape that comes with class 3 stuff. The ATF can come to your house at any time and demand inspection.......while they don't normally do that they use it as a tool to destroy people.......I told my son as he has a mess of class 3 stuff but he don't know about the government like I do and what they can do to destroy people.

So why give them a reason ....stay clean, stay low, and don't raise no red flags....

That's awesome buddy! I knew you had a factory connection at Colt. There is just no other way to have the stuff you do. It sucks to see things change. My buddy that has the shop is in bad shape now. He got sick last year and was in the hospital for over a month. Had sepsis and came close to dying. His back is so bad he can barely move. He goes out to the shop for three hours on Saturdays.
Makes me sad. I hate to see things like that change. Hate it.

I was out truck shopping today. Another thing I hate. I will need one more, as I have six years to work. If I didn't have to travel, I'd have a 78 K20 and be happy.
On a plus side, i packed my Colt SAA while I was out doing that today. And had my hot wife along with me to do the thinking and money talk. Ole Jay ain't bright, but he's smart enough to marry smart. :D

Hey! You'd be proud of me Jack. Sitting down in my happy place (my gun room) watching my my favorite Rob Zombie movie (it's bad.......so bad). Cool gun movie. Has 1911s, a BAR, M16A1s, some Colt Troopers......
Anyway.....dad sent over some pickled eggs and kielbasa, so I got into those with some beer.
Ain't gonna be safe at OldWins house for a while. :D

Oh Lordy...oh Lordy.....I AM PROUD of you young man! Kristy doing the negotiations and you get the eat the pickeled eggs, kebossy, :D and beer....throw some old deer jerky in the recipe and a mouthful of raw broccoli and wash it down with double carbonated seltzer water. (that's for propulsion) After it's all said and done I guarantee you that you will not be "hiding the salami" tonight.

You'll be on the couch...another guarantee...... :D

New wheels? Well, you have lots of loot like Old Savage....if I had 6 years to go I'd buy a no frills 2 cylinder nothing for 12g's and run the poop out of it...don't even change the oil...just run it...get the 7 year warranty, complain about the same problem over and over and after about 4 years call em on lemon law and get a new one right before you retire.... ...sell it and use the money for more pickeled eggs, deer jerky, beer, and cauliflower. Mix in some old newspapers and a TIME magazine and chew it up good.... :D

Heck, Old Savage will hear ya from his house. Gunny will certainly smell it.

I tell ya, we could have a lot of fun in deer camp. Old Savage with his high falutin ways would sleep outside. He sure wouldn't come back next year.... :D ----006

Hahahaha I tell ya bro!
Man! What a time. I'm hoping to be down that way this summer. The wife wants to visit her cousin. We were over the middle boys house for supper and she said she wants to get down there, and I should stop and see you guys. Sounded like a plan to me. Hopefully it will work out.
The whole gang is going to meet up in Wyoming in September. We are renting a big house in Jackson Hole. Going to get back to the Cody museum with all my boys. Be a big ole time for sure. Real estate will drop 30% after we get done.
Well old buddy, I'm hitting the hay. I only got about 4 hours sleep last night........
Oooohhhh, just ripped a big-un!
Thank goodness it was a clean one......
Talk tomorrow buddy!

Good to see all you guys are having FUN !!! I have my kid and his wife staying with me this week so I ain't had much time to post anything even mildly interesting.
My son brought his fancy air rifle and decimated my Squirrel population so it looks like I'll have no sport when they're gone...

Anyway keep eating pickled eggs and sawing down them Colts and shooting up trucks and be sure to watch out for them chimps with Pitbulls.....
