Today is our 34th wedding anniversary. The other sales staff I work with are Millennials. I was thinking today that I have been married as long if not longer than they have been alive. Yes, I know...too much time on my hands.
My Operations Manager is the same age and we were telling the "kids" about gas rationing in the 1970's. None of them had heard about it and thought it was Fake News until they googled it.
I need to stop looking back and look forward to retirement in a couple of years.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
It is always strange to meet someone I perceive as a full adult (job, kids, etc.) and realize they are so much younger than me they could be my kid....
....or even my GRANDkid....

I remember when the McDonald's sign touted "over 400,000 sold".
Right before I went on active duty, I paid $0.09/gallon for gasoline. There was a gas war in my town.
I started driving during the time when Al Gore, Sr and Armand Hammer advised Jimmeh Cottuh to let OPEC run the price of oil up because it would be good for our economy.
Gas was almost double the price per gallon that the minimum wage was. At least, out where I lived it was.

It's a little scary to compare days you were single to days you are married! Even more so if you subtract those years before you could even consider getting married legally! I was 28 when I married my wife, and we're still together. That was 1979, and I had no idea we'd stick together forever. Of course we always hope we will, but no guarantees!
Went on a little backpack trip last week with gkids and ggkids. Oldest gkid was saying he's feeling his age these days (couple years short of 40 ). I told him "and it isn't going to get any better from here!" But I have to say that other than getting a kick out of using movie quotes from movies a truly mature person would find unwatchable, my gkids have long been every bit as grown up as their gpa.
