Meh …… good for them but I'm not a scattergun guy. Hope they sell a bunch to other folks who decide to sell their old shot guns & flood the market with inexpensively priced Remington 870s and Mossberg 500s.

Re: Savage has intorduced a new semi auto shotgun
I have one gas operated auto and one Inertia Driven and I have to say if I didn't already have the gas 12 that fits me so well I'd buy another Inertia Driven. Clean and reliable, almost no maintenance needed for hundreds of rounds with the Inertia. Would be hard pressed to buy another gas gun. Recoil isn't that important, shoot most of my skeet with a Citori.

The problem with the savage is that it is about $800.00 north of what everyone else is selling a comparable S.A. for..... . but for those that must have the latest thing they do have a "fluted " barrel on them.......

Re: Savage has intorduced a new semi auto shotgun
I have a Saiga-12, and it is so fast, and so 'ergonomic' as far as dealing with ground-based predators, that I am not going to bother with any other semiauto shotgun at this point....
I still like a Mossberg 500 for most basic stuff, and I still like a breakopen Ithaca M-66 for even more basic stuff, but if life tosses me a really bad problem, I'd rather have the Saiga-12 than anything else I own except maybe my M1A, or an AR-15 with 40-round MagPul Drums.

It's just ugly! I'll stick with my M1 Super 90 !- the only H& K I own
BROWN LABS MATTER !!
Re: Savage has intorduced a new semi auto shotgun
I like the idea of adjustable comb height, length of pull, and adjustable cast to fit the individual. NOW! I can get all those features in cheaper and better looking guns. I don't shoot shotguns much anymore. Why would I spend that much on an ugly gun that I might not even shoot once every 2 or 3 years? I will stick with an 870 or a Mossberg 500 and buy aftermarket stocks to fit it to me. Much cheaper. I never shot enough rounds out of a shotgun in a single day for the pump action to become tiring.

Of course it's ugly; it's a Savage. It will also likely be super accurate, super reliable, and boring.
It's overpriced. Savage made its post M99 bones on ugly, accurate, boring reliability, at a good price. This ain't that.
