I wish, except for trips to the doctor's, getting new stuff cut off, I've been trapped indoors. And on a liquid diet to boot! Something about getting your lower lip cut off, just doesn't invite the feel of utensils sliding over raw muscle... and bandaging a lip is a pretty interesting endeavour, getting it to stick where you want it is also frustrating.

Although, I've discovered that the powdered strawberry slimfast, mixed with milk and strawberry & vanilla ice cream, whipped up in the blender makes for a right tasty and ultimately, satisfying milk shake! It ain't about losing weight, but rather not starving while the lip heals...

Well for the tin castle here is a new13.2 gallon can my daughter sent. It comes with an owners manual in two languages. She for some reason thought the 30 year old blue one should be replaced.

I like that Fred....classy...my son, who is "uppity" has one just like it.....one time I told him, "what's this fancy trash can?" And he says, "well dad, it IS a bit better than your 5 gallon bucket." Sheeeeeeeetttt....redneck till I die..........that's why Jay and I get along so well........

Gunny must be working....may the Lord bless him....cold and windy.....Buffalo Match cancelled due to cold and wind......

Griff....In 1978 I left 9/10 of my lower lip hanging on the side of my face with only a string holding it on from kissing the steering wheel on the old Trans Am......don't know how but the plastic surgeons sewed it back on.....never had any feeling in it for 10 years or more........guys at work used to call me "Rubber Lip"....scars are still there but not as noticeable......

Well.....things could be worse...I asked my regular bud how this other bud was doing.....this "other bud" used to be the guy who had carte blanche at the Colt factory and got me all those one of a kind guns.......he developed a nasty form of Alzheimer's......is wealthy..not rich...wealthy....there's a difference........anyway, he told me that this guy just sits there and watches the same movie over and over.....day after day......I told my bud, "look at th bright side, to him, it's a fresh movie every time it comes on". :D ---6

Hey guys!

Wooo OS! Classy trash can.

Hang in there Griff. Hope you're back on a hillbilly diet soon!

Well I been out to my "winter range" shootin 22s. Hadn't done that in a long time. It's a nice day. About 26 degrees so not too cold. Shot my 1st year production 10/22, my Chiapa Little Badger survival rifle and my 22/45 Lite.
Had a grand time till it started snow squalling bad enough to trash visibility. Of course, once I got home it stopped. :D

Well Six we had to make our own smoke lamps. We were given a screw top can, just like what PVC glue comes in, then we drilled a hole in the top for a 38 case to fit through, solder it in place, stuff a wick in ( after drilling out the head)and fill with oil. I also made one from a 50 cal case, a belted mag case fits the neck, again drill out the web to allow your wick to come through. Then fill with kero or diesel( harder to light).

I feel 95% today! Yesterday was about 45%! I'm thinking I got a little black mold from when we were doing all that wet sheetrock demo last week. My head doesn't hurt, I can breath through my nose again too!

Well it’s that time of year again, the Yellowstone river is starting to break up. I live about 2 miles from the river north of Sidney MT. Last years ice jam flooded to within 6 blocks of my house, they are predicting it won’t be as bad this year since the ice is only 18” to 20” thick, last year it was 24” to 30”.

Man. I been MIA for a while. I don't know what I've been so busy doing.
Did start prepping some 44-40 cases Sunday. I'm go8ng to try some of those bullets Six sent me a while ago in my old 73. I have a minty factory Winchester 44 mold but it's undersize for smokeless powder.
May start off with a little Unique with these bullets. May also try 4227 and 2400 as I have it on hand.

Good to hear about an easy spring Harry. It's always a concern here, too. I don't live on the river but the Kennebec is nearby. We didn't have too rough of a winter this year so hopefully it will be an easy breakup and freshet this spring. I've seen some real scary ones. The one in 87 was the worst on record. The scars are still visible. It permanently changed the landscape and many towns along it.
I was out your way last summer. Beautiful country! It was June and the river was quite brown and looked fairly high. Mountain melt and runoff I assumed.

That's the problem with mental patients six- they live in their own timeline. I wonder who is paying how much to the 2 drop outs for more support? Wait, no political stuff here!

It's very rare here to get the rivers to freeze but when it happens it doesn't last long. A few years ago it froze up but good, when breakup happened the ice did some real damage to a dam. The dam is privately owned and now the state is telling the guy to tear it out or fix it- much less expensive to tear it out! The upstream area of the dam is silted in and causes tremendous flooding problems now.

Boy I wish my sinuses would clear out, I'm hacking what feels like boulders up in the mornings!

Just goes to show the power of propaganda. You'll know when it's bad. They will refuse to treat people over a certain age.
If it's as bad as they say, the last thing I'm worried about is toilet paper.
I detest the media. Ultimately, the panic they create is worse than what they blamed it on.

I'm sure since I'm a registered Republican, I shouldn't go vote today because of the corona virus. If I was a Democrat, it's completely safe and is the only way to stop it.

Got a test load put together with Jack's donated bullets.
Now I got to get out with the old 73 and see if they fly straight. Actually, the brass was Jack's too. It was some of the "packing material" for a 66 Lyman he sent. Good ole Six! :D
After I loaded em I gave em a run through the action to make sure they'd feed.
Ain't nothin' like cycling a 73. Just gives me a stupid grin. :D

You were MIA... I feel like I've been missing for a month. Last Wednesday, I had a cancer spot removed from my lower lip... by the time the Doc got it all, half my lip was MIA! You ever see you mouth without a LIP? The Doc said that he was just going to leave it... no stitches... Kept it bandaged for two days, the Doc said to leave it open but covered with vaseline after... Did good until very early Monday morning, woke up with my mouth full of blood and a large puddle on the bed. Tried staunching the flood, but not go... so off to the emergency room. They didn't do anything but pinch my lip. The sent me off to the surgeon that cut the cancer... by which time it'd stopped bleeding. Spent the day organizing stuff in the garage for mounting the new hubs on the flab bed trailer. Picked up a new lawn mower... new to me... a much bigger JD than my old Craftsman. While I was fixin' dinner, it started bleeding again. This time I pinched my lip myself... still have the left over steak & potatoes! Luckily, soakin' the sheets & pillow cases in cold water, and stains-be-gone. Good so far today.

Hey Griff......it'll heal...the docs know these things....did he tell you there might be issues?......I'd probably use a antibiotic ointment instead of Vaseline.....You want to keep germs from entering the system. Strange thing that these things don't bother me like they did most of my life....even told the wife I could care less what they have to cut off me...even Pete.....I figure if Pete has to be cut off, I'd lose an instant 20 pounds.

Jay.....looks like a nice unmolested '73.....what's the date of manufacture? Still has polish on the receiver......if I didn't know better, it looks like one I used to have. :D

Check the crown if it don't shoot. .......my guess is it will with .431.......keep the velocity at match velocity first...1100.....

If that don't work, there's another plan......after eliminating the groove diameter issue and the crown issue......gas checks with a .431

Let us know how it shoots.....another plan is for me to cast up some soft Lee .431's.

Black helicopters? Blackhawks....

Fun times are coming on the political scene..........joe Biden is gaffing more everyday and it's another year IF he takes office.......

Man Griff! Hang in there buddy. Tough old coot like you should heal up soon. Like Six said, as long as you avoid infection, you will be good.

Hey Six,
The power of photography. It LOOKS clean and unmolested......but it ain't. Some azzwipe at some bygone era cut the barrel to 20". They cut the mag to half also, but I fixed that and you can't tell. I had a 73 parts gun and the finish on the tube matched perfect. The other side of the receiver doesn't look as good.
However! The bore is excellent and the action is tight.
I bought it for 300 bucks years ago to use as a shooter. It was made in 1887.

Haven't shot it yet. Will get out when I can.
I shot it with some old, old, old Remington factories years ago and it shot well. Tried cast from my factory mold but didn't get great results. It was casting too small for smokeless I think.
Slugged it but it was years ago. Think it was around .429 or .430. Maybe..... maybe? :D

Raining here today, and it will probably be too muddy to enjoy a day at the range Saturday. Guess I will have to go to the gun show in Waxahachie.

Holy smokes! The wind has been blowing like crazy all day. I hate that.
I'm ready for spring. Want the Jeep and the bike back out.
Be nice to get back into the range too.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Rained last nite here... too wet to go outside so I can work on trailer... gotta replace 24 wheel studs. Gonna look so nice with new wheels & tires, I'll have to take off the beatup old fenders and put new ones back on! Next thing ya know I'll be paintin' the darned 30 year old farm trailer!

I was going to buy an induction cooktop, but only found one that comes close to filling the hole some yahoo cut n the counter... then found out that you have to use carbon steel cookware, my wife's old aluminum & glass pots ain't gonna cut it.

Thinkin' I might just replace the countertops... and pots and pans... but looked at the bank account. I need a "gofund me" :o
